Well deep in our villages, many children grow up riding bicycles to school. It’s part of life. It’s resilience we often don’t even pause to applaud.
But let’s not miss the point.
What made this moment stand out was not just the act of riding a bicycle..it was the courage, the determination, and the context. Riding through busy town roads, in traffic, under a heavy downpour, while still choosing education over comfort… that is not ordinary. That is bravery in its purest form.
Sometimes, we don’t celebrate enough the quiet strength our children carry every single day..so lets not downplay her story,

Sometimes you have to pause and celebrate those who give their all in the pursuit of democracy. Tonight is one such night.
As a @Renew_Democracy Fellow, I am filled with joy to witness the courage and sacrifice of many in defending freedoms; in believing even and especially when times are tough. Never tire of believing, of trying, of pushing for freedoms and for a better future.
Glad to see a friend, @HEBobiwine, being recognized for his sacrifices, courage, and belief in a better future for our generations and our country.

The real tragedy isn’t just today.
It’s in 10 years, when these same young women realize that their bodies have been monetized forever on the internet, that they can no longer erase their past, and that they will be judged for choices they made at 20.
African mothers and grandmothers were the pillars of the family and of society.
Today, they are being replaced by OnlyFans accounts.
Africa must choose: preserve its dignity or copy a culture that has already destroyed their own.
Faced with this moral decay and the abuses by tech platforms, African governments must act with concrete solutions:
✅ Education on dignity and values starting from school
✅ Strict regulation of platforms (real minimum age + content control)
✅ Massive promotion of successful African role models (tech, entrepreneurship, authentic culture)
Africa needs builders, entrepreneurs, and leaders not lifelong “content creators.”

This is not progress. It’s a new form of exploitation imported from abroad that is degrading our women and eroding traditional African values. Poverty or personal choice? What do you think?
