@charliehoehn Fitness is best example of this for me. Years ago I did a beta program with @ramit and learned a strong foundation of basics. Since then I've learned how to ID experts to keep me accountable to my goals. Now it's no longer work, just part of my lifestyle.

HOW TO GET OUT OF A PROLONGED STATE OF MISERY / FAILURE 1. Admit that what you’ve been doing isn’t working. 2. Find someone who makes a living helping people solve that specific problem. (And verify they’re great at it) 3. Pay them money to solve your problem with you.

@charliehoehn It's for sure spam central, but there is real value in being easy to find in the place that potential employers look at candidates. Also, I got my current job (which is awesome) via being found on LinkedIn but it's just one tool in the career toolbox. RPG is far superior though.

@wilreynolds You’ll get plenty of miles in with it! But seriously, it’s one of the most incredible books I’ve ever read. Listen to the intro and see what you think. If it doesn’t catch you, skip it. If you find yourself saying “damn, who is this guy and how’d be do it?” you might love it.

@wilreynolds Hacking Twitter by Nick Bilton is good (same as Kingpin) though is less of a cautionary tale. Billion Dollar Loser (WeWork) and Super Pumped (Uber) are fun reads! The Power Broker by Robert Caro has a similar arc but in politics. One of my fav books. Long but incredible.

American kingpin and bad blood were both ahhhhmazing.

A lot of people ask me what can I do, I'm trying to figure that out too, but one thing to do, is consider becoming a big brother / big sister, a lot of youth need someone to help check in on them right now.
