Finally got my hands on some chachafruto. Literally grows on the street in Colombia and has promising peptides and antioxidants.

"readers" don't really exist anymore. Reading books is a niche hobby like flying a kite or bird watching. So it attracts a certain type of person If you want a normal person to read your stuff you're going to have to get their attention while they are at work and bored

I think it's imperative we as a society look everyone who doesn't read books in the eye and say Fuck you, die lazy scum.

@gmiller Great idea. I got actionable advice, but I'm skeptical it would work because replies were heavily sycophantic. When I pressed it recommend I consider quitting X! Though your post seems to imply that merely having this conversation will yield results, so let's see.

Pro tip: if you're a Premium+ user, and you care about reaching people on X: It's very useful to have a detailed conversation with SuperGrok about your content, followers, niche, & posting patterns. - Click the SuperGrok icon on desktop X - Screenshot your analytics and share with Grok. - Ask it to compare your account to other similar accounts & assess your intellectual/media/content niche - Ask it to assess your strengths and weaknesses in how you use X - Ask what you could do better, to reach whatever goals you have in using X. In my experience, spending 10-15 minutes doing this can yield a significant improvement in your reach, engagement, and the quality of your conversations on this platform. Give it a try, and let me know if it's useful?

@PaulaGhete Could be. Though for some it's a useful reminder. It's very easy to get caught up talking about yourself, dominating the conversation, without even meaning to.

example. some women complain that they go on dates and men don't ask them any questions. they're not even interested in them. advice: ask women questions, get to know them what happens: men who are not interested simulate interest, maybe to start a relationship or to get sex

maybe I'm weird about this but I don't like dating advice and I worry it does what it's not supposed to. if the advice helps you become more authentic or grow as a person, it's great. but if the advice makes you play a role to seem different than you are, it's bad.

@LukeEpplin Oh interesting that’s never bothered me. I’ve always appreciated getting errata reports, whether self- or trad-publishing.

It never fails: you publish a book and within weeks the emails come in: "Hey, I liked your book and all, but on page 257, there's a typo that I want to call your attention to...." I don't understand this impulse to contact authors in this way.

2 main thoughts: 1. This will kill UGC as a medium. Nobody will trust anything. 2. This is an evil business model. Fake people selling fake products to cortisol spiked 9to5ers. Hijacking trust & raping the social contract.

Four techniques for building larger projects from smaller ones: • Stacking is combining smaller works into larger ones, like stacking bricks. • Folding is taking elements from larger works, breaking them off into smaller works, then reincorporating them back into larger works, like a baker kneading dough. • Expanding is turning your smaller works into larger ones, like blowing up a balloon. • Surrounding is using smaller projects to make it easier to finish seemingly-unrelated larger ones, like encircling enemy territory.

Visa is doing marketing consults (see pinned!)
its actually comical and absurd how fast you gain followers once you already have a lot of followers. my first 10k followers i had to grind 10+ years for. i hardly even tweet anymore and i picked up another 11k in months i don't know for what
