@ferrarirules86 Current owners are pissed but this means only Y L will see and standard models will get discontinued unless standard models prices are changed

⚡️ Did the Model YL make the rest of the Model Y lineup redundant? 📈 Just ₹2.1L more than Standard RWD → +28 kWh battery, dual-motor AWD & 181 km extra range 📉 ₹5.9L cheaper than Long Range RWD → bigger battery (88.2 vs 84.2 kWh) + an extra row of seats ➡️Thoughts? - evelectree.com/article/tesla-…
Suhail Gulati - ElecTree@evelectree

Tesla just broke its own pricing strategy in India. 🧵 Why would you pay ₹6L extra for a car with less range, fewer seats, and no AWD? What does the sales data reveal about "Badge" prestige in India? Full Analysis: evelectree.com/article/tesla-… @elonmusk

People are actually paying ₹62 lakh for this dull, uninspiring interior. It’s so bland it could make you feel sleepy behind the wheel. I’d never consider buying it, no matter what. Just compare it to the interior of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that’s what a proper, engaging cabin should look like! 🤦🏻‍♂️@Tesla

The only perfect dashboard a beautiful mix of old-school buttons and switches with a modern screen. The Jeep Rubicon truly has one of the best interior setups ever. No car, no brand can match it! 😍👌🏻

@kushanmitra At this price point, no one will buy regular Model Y and Y LR. Tesla might discontinue them and only sell Y L in India

Finally, Tesla too has learned that Indians aren't swayed by a great brand but want great VALUE. 3-row Tesla Model YL with captain seats, AWD and a 680km range is fantastically priced for what all it offers. autocarindia.com/car-news/tesla…

@Pivot2Centre Doing all this, still need a maid for bathroom cleaning and dusting everyday which maids don’t wanna do. Robot vacuums can’t clean every corner properly too and can’t go to areas where furniture obstructs it. Maid can also handwash certain dishes that can’t go in dishwasher.

I can’t stress this enough 1. Buy a dishwasher. Almost 80% of the utensils can be managed by the dishwasher. Only cooker, and few items require hand wash 2. Buy a Romba. The one with mopping capabilities 3. Buy a dryer along with washer You don’t need a maid. Once you don’t need a maid, your life will be much more flexible- you day won’t revolve around her timings. You can literally automate 70% of the work she does and you can get several hours back. Just hire someone from Urban company to do deep cleaning once a week or 2 weeks.

@NsNitinsinha In Mumbai there is a stupid rule to not allow EV chargers to install above Parking level 1. Only ground level and P1 level allowed. This is a stupid BMC guideline which societies are using. I am fighting it out.

No charging! That’s a ₹20 lakh+ car… parked like a normal car…bought 3 months ago. But the society has refused to allow him to install a charger… because he lives on rent. Now imagine this. Instead of simply plugging in at home, he has to search for a public charger. What should have been the biggest advantage of owning an EV… home charging… is completely gone. And this is not a one-off story. Even auto creator Gaurav Yadav recently highlighted similar issues in Gurgaon where societies are denying EV charging access in basements, often citing safety concerns or vague rules. The irony is that India’s own EV guidelines actually encourage installation of private chargers in residential parking spaces to promote adoption. So on one side, the government is pushing EVs. On the other side, societies are quietly blocking them. And the worst part? Renters suffer the most. If you own the flat, you can fight it. If you’re on rent, you’re stuck between landlord, RWA and rules that keep changing. This is the hidden cost of EV ownership in India. Until this mindset changes, EV adoption in cities will always hit a wall.
