The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) Engineer Contingent in collaboration with engineers from the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), have officially launched joint reconstruction works in Montego Bay, St James Parish. The activities commenced with the reconstruction of houses for local residents affected by Hurricane Melissa, marking the start of practical humanitarian and engineering support to impacted communities. @onduhungirehe I couldn’t agree more. That is the humble man I have always known. One could also add that he is profoundly patriotic and unwavering in his commitment to people’s freedoms, always ready to sacrifice his own comfort, & even his life, so that others may enjoy peace and prosperity.

I knew General James Kabarebe as a freedom fighter, an outstanding commander, a formidable story-teller, and an inspiration for the youth. What I didn't know is that he was also a humble man, an excellent diplomat (admired by all his EAC counterparts), a results-oriented manager (who could find a quick solution to any problem), and a kind leader who cares about the well-being of his staff. A blessing to this country. All the best General!

Today, Minister @Dominiquehab and Minister of State @mskayisire, along with the MINALOC team, received a delegation from @InstituteGC led by Stella Ford Mugabo, ED for TBI. They discussed and deliberated particularly on strengthening local gov't capacity and deliverology concept.

But that is not true. This means that we, as a people, decide for ourselves, we choose what is right for us, and we work to provide for ourselves. And even if the things that help sustain us may not be complete, and may be supported by help from elsewhere, they must add to what we already have; they do not replace what is ours. They do not strip you of the rights you inherently possess. You are who you are, a Rwandan from Rwanda. The help we receive should add to what we already have. You might express gratitude to whoever provided that support, but this does not give them the right to behave as though they created you. That must never happen."
