@Number_Three_ @Lowes What on earth are you two talking about? If you want to pay an extra 250 so that someone can scan your purchases for you, you should just do that. The "ai" at the checkout??? There's no AI. Literally never had an issue buying (and checking out) an odd number of fittings...lol.

@guillotine_stan @JonahFurman The original point was, is it fair to give Rs a pass for voting against the interests of workers in the first place? It sounds like you believe the Ds would have voted against sick leave even if they controlled the house because they are "villains." Is that accurate?

@guillotine_stan @JonahFurman It's not the calling out of villainy that smacks of fascism. Villainy should definitely be called out. It's the framing of political adversaries as villains. But that is also beside the original point.

People need to understand that we’ve reached this point in rail bargaining because of a failed union strategy to rely entirely on Democratic Party leadership to get a deal, and to avoid anything that could threaten that strategy, from progressive legislation to going on strike

@realk7vv @mrscorpio2085 @Smplyetstunning @NPR Again, u r sort of side stepping the real issue. The actions taken when cops "check out" reports of suspicious pple is the issue. A guy standing in a yard watering plants isn't suspicious. How is it justified to handcuff him if he doesn't want to show ID?

@ShabamShow @mrscorpio2085 @Smplyetstunning @NPR That's not exactly what happened. He was reported by a citizen as a 'suspicious person'. Cop has to check that out. Then the guy gets 'snotty' with the cop. Cop says, OK, two can play that game. And out come the cuffs. He's a suspicious person who won't ID himself. Detained

@realk7vv @mrscorpio2085 @Smplyetstunning @NPR It seems like you are conflating a few different issues. "What to do when a cop asks for ID" is separate from "do you legally have to show them ID" which is again separate from "can a cop make stuff up in order to legally compel you to show ID."

@realk7vv @mrscorpio2085 @Smplyetstunning @NPR Why not just look up whether you are required to present ID to a cop? So many twitter arguments could be avoided with minimal research. And then we're all better informed! (You don't have to show ID if you are not suspected of committing a crime).

@mrscorpio2085 @Smplyetstunning @NPR They ARE the same thing in the sense that you do have to present an ID under a number of different circumstances. To say, 'I don't need to carry a ID, no law says I have to' ain't the point. As a practical matter, you DO need to carry an ID.
