This game is a god damned masterpiece.

Every year they give out awards for the best films about suffering. Men in expensive suits applaud other men in expensive suits for their sensitive portrayal of people who do not own suits, who will not be in the audience, and who had no say in how their suffering was framed for the emotional consumption of the people applauding. Somewhere, tonight, a real person in a real village with a real name we do not know is living through something that, in thirty years, will be an award-winning film. A film in which they will be the sad part before the American character's growth arc begins.

They will tell you the system is broken. It is not broken. A system that was designed to extract cheap labor is extracting cheap labor. Calling it broken is the kindest gift you can give it. Because a broken thing needs to be repaired. But a thing working exactly as designed needs something that requires a harder conversation than repair.
