If you’re expecting an instant rip towards all time highs once the war ends you’re mistaken. There will be plenty of aftershocks to deal with. If you’re a true longterm investor that’s a blessing. Time to accumulate lower is everything. Everyone is a longterm investor until volatility hits.

Robinhood sent me a message today that "my wait is finally over for Robinhood Gold." I applied in July 2024. It doesn't feel special. It feels like I was deprioritized for some reason. How long was your wait?

@MiddleearthMixr I was instantly annoyed by this announcement and now I’m mildly okay with it after hearing which chapters it’s supposed to focus on, if they’re really going to just tell the Tom Bombadil part of the story. I don’t have high hopes though.

Apparently it’s going to be about the Tom Bombadil chapters left out of the Peter Jackson films: My prediction is Sam’s daughter stumbles upon some section of the Red Book that describes the experience and they go back in time. Bookmark this. Admittedly, this concept is interesting to me, and Stephen Colbert’s passion for LOTR and his personal Catholic faith (although it doesn’t seem to penetrate his public beliefs at all) seems to be the only things he doesn’t have brain worms about so maybe he could tell a faithful adaptation. My outlook though is grim because nothing that comes out of Hollywood for the most part has the ability to properly capture Light and Truth unless it’s by accident.

@Variety Anybody who wants this really didn’t read the Lord of the Rings. Undermining the entire story with “the Fellowship might have never had the chance to be heroes and make sacrifices for the good of Middle-Earth” is unnecessary Write your own world and tell whatever story you want.

@aincomeinvestor Sometimes I wonder if it’s even worth having both my individual account and my Roth IRA. I like the idea behind the Roth, but I don’t like all the rules really. Especially knowing they could change or just go away entirely one day.

and I will SAY Majority of Americans don’t have the discipline to stack and designate an % of their paycheck to an individual account. These are perfect for the normal people who want to work until that retirement age. Automation and long term investing.

Last week @RobinhoodApp announced their Early Dividends service but didn’t quite understand before so here’s my best breaking it down. Normally you qualify on the record date but don’t actually get paid until the official payment date weeks later. With this feature, Robinhood credits the dividend to your account shortly after the record date, meaning you can receive the cash about 17 days earlier on average and sometimes close to a month sooner. The money is fully usable right away to reinvest, trade, or withdraw and it’s not a loan or advance with fees, they’re simply paying it earlier than most brokerages. It’ll apply to SELECT U.S. dividend stocks, be free for all Robinhood users, and is expected to start rolling out around April 2026, with a new dividend tracker also coming later this year. For anyone focused on cash flow or reinvesting dividends quickly, getting paid earlier can make a real difference over time. The only thing is I don’t know if this will be applicable to high yield dividend companies like @YieldMaxETFs @roundhill for example. Should find out soon enough.

I don’t hate anyone. I just can’t let a corrupt person like @KenPaxtonTX jeopardize a safe Republican Senate seat, be an anchor on down ballot races, divert resources from other Senate pickup opportunities, and jeopardize @realDonaldTrump agenda in his last two years of his current term.

@HunterBonner I mean pulling 11% against a deeply entrenched incumbent with near infinite name recognition is quite a feat tbh. Blind voting for name recognition is another reason to have term limits in my book.

@Alice_MiaX I do both Roth and regular brokerage, but I do feel like it’s necessary to be aware that the Roth rules could be changed or gone at any moment too. It sounds great in theory until the rules get flipped on us. Who knows what the future might bring us
