A lot can change, we won’t really see the full outcome until the summer. And Bild is a very reputable source.
We had similar competition for Babis (Chels, Arsenal, Liverpool I think). What Brighton offers is quite different regards what we can do for future incentives.

It’s true, But having thought this over since this annoying news broke out, I recall it’s not the first time. Was thinking back to when we lost out on Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea. Instead we bought Diego Gomez and O’Riley (we can argue the merits of each in a separate discussion). And we also had other CMs if I recall very heavily reported to be waiting on a call from Brighton. So perhaps that is how the club pivot. As it’s not just going to be Chelsea, there will always be richer clubs. We can’t have singular targets like the elite. We have multiple targets, all the same profile, all lined up in a row. So if this transpires, Said El-Mala is one name on that list, and we have 2-3 others.

@BennettsField I’m glad we won and enjoyed the match but don’t let it paper over the cracks. This season has been turgid in the main. It’s going to be a big close season in the transfer market and I really hope that extends to a change of manager too.

I remain sceptical of this sort of story, moreso based on the source.
Can’t tell you how many times down the years I’ve been told players are falling out with the head coach, coincidentally, it’s always during a horrendous run.
Surprise, surprise, players are unhappy if they’re not playing or if the team have consecutive horrific results.
But if it is true, he’ll be gone. Simple as that.
And as I’ve said on my page for a while, the signs are pointing towards an “interesting summer” with a lot of change anyway…

@BrightonBubble @MikeKeegan_DM That's why I don't think the manager is the problem. Recruitment and retention seems to have gone crazy recently - and that's why we were doing so well before. Yeah Hurzeler isn't adding anything but I don't think he's the core problem.

“I think we didn’t have plenty of chances but controlled the game. We came into good areas but didn’t finalise it and we made one mistake.
