@Lazy_Data Absolutely correct. Have fun the way you want to have fun. If that means using assist, use assists. If that means turning assists off, turn them off. Play how you want.

Who here has played the Saints Row reboot? And if so what did you think? As part of a buddy and mine’s “summer of slop” annual event (where we test out games that got 💩 on) I downloaded it. I’m expecting the worst but hey, you never know until you try right?

@luizmdz1 It has even more potential as a multiplatform game. Now more people get to play it. Get out of that childish mentality of not wanting to share your toys with others.

@shinobi602 There are those online that need to create controversies where none exist. Imagine being so bored that you have time to do that. Even if you have the time, imagine how bad of a person you have to be to try and do that, to actively try and harm a game or studio for zero reason.

Finished Mixtape 💿 Found it charming with a lot of heartfelt moments that got me pretty nostalgic. I loved all the 90s references, the soundtrack was great with some songs that I recognized and some that I didn't. The art direction and visuals were great. It's nicely stylized with lots of beautiful lighting effects. The gameplay's pretty light. I don't know if it's something I'd necessarily call 'bad' because it's going for a very specific curated experience. I'm someone who enjoys everything from Souls to shooters, racing games, horror games, RPGs...I've also loved games that were pretty light on gameplay like Gone Home, Firewatch, Edith Finch, etc. As an 'experience', I liked what I played and found the whole thing memorable. I spent way too long skipping stones on that lake though lol. I'll say it got me a little emotional at times because some of it reminded me of me and my two older brothers growing up in the 90s and I really miss those days. We talk about it all time whenever we text or call. "Dude remember this" - *proceeds to share a classic 90s hit song or random commercial*. So Mixtape kind of took me back to those days. I quite liked all the characters, especially Slater. We'd probably be bros in real life lol. The script was funny and witty and made even better by some great performances. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. Just seems like a cutesy, niche game like The Artful Escape before it. I guess some media reviews set some people off. Personally I wouldn't give it a 10 at all, but I don't fault anyone for really liking it. Some things just resonate with others a lot more. Had an enjoyable time overall ✌️ #Mixtape #PS5Pro

@RadstormR18852 @shinobi602 What you don't understand is that reviews are subjective opinion. The media has not been writing bad reviews. You might think Game A is a 10/10 while another thinks it is absolute trash and vice versa. They might think something is 10/10 and you hate it. Subjective opinion.

@shinobi602 It's just the media have been writing some really bad reviews. There's no way Mouse P.I is a 6 but Mixtape is a 10. So people are automatically skeptical of any mainstream outlets

The next XBOX should be called XBOX 2. The one after that should be called XBOX 3. Then XBOX 4… The videogame console should cost $500. There should be an optional disc drive for $100 to play any XBOX game produced since the OG XBOX. - VIC from THE ELECTRIC PLAYGROUND

@JadieIsTired It's interesting because In N Out uses real, fresh potatoes for their fries. Are people so used to processed trash that their system can't handle something real like that? Fascinating.

There were plenty of articles written about ps layoffs, cancelation of games, and even a recent outrage of the ps plus price increase. Yes there is a bias. That bias is for the platform with the bigger install base. Its not rocket science. Xbox isnt preferred cuz it sucks. Simple
3Bit@iThreeBit

Xbox Tax? Internally it's known throughout several studios to prioritize Playstation versions of a game first due to its overall popularity which can lead to performance disparities depending on time in development & priorities. It's commonly known throughout many third party studios that Playstation is the priority, then porting versions of their game to an xbox. Which can leave out key graphical and optimization features in its dev kits. I believe that priority sentiment carries throughout the industry in my experience...And carries through a bias mentality. The Playstation 1st mentality is also seen with review copies, with most reviewers preferring or having a preference to playing or reviewing a game on PS 1st. An xbox game can review well intially but receive negative coverage for months afterwards (Halo, Starfield, Cod, Sea of Thieves) or be opted out of categories of conversation. Multiplatform games tend to also have more reviews in general on PS, even more favorable outlets choose to sometimes opt out of xbox coverage or copies OVERALL. I've personally seen outlets REJECT xbox copies of a game. It's not crazy to me to equalize Playstation's popularity to favorable bias, it has more users and a bigger fanbase and generally gets more favor for anything negative due to "premium games" and as I mentioned most reviewers choose to not even have an xbox copy of a game. And in my honest opinion....You do not see that same energy with PS products or games in terms of negative articles. No multitude of articles asking about where TLOU Factions is, or asking about the players dropping in a game months after launch (like starfield - a single player game). No asking about Kotor's status; multitude of studios that have had layoffs of 100+ people, their pipeline/lack of showcases, or any hint of negativity toward a portable device that isn't great at being portable getting higher review scores than devices like the Steam Deck? (Something made to be portable), No series of articles about upcharging for a service without any improvements. Or if there is an article it's buried with a multitude of articles about why you should forget about a game like Starfield. Barely a peep throughout many industry outlets on a variety of topics of anything thats negative about PS. So, Imo there is a bias and I don't think it's a bad thing to point out that the media prefers PS and it reads that Xbox can be a hindrance to these people in alot of scenarios. #xboxtax

Grosse déception ce Forza Horizon 6. Pas de nouveautés, un gameplay pas dingue (les voitures sont des savonnettes), la musique est nulle, et y’a même pas de VF…

@JezCorden Just depends on your group. I know people that are excited to see it. One already has and said he really enjoys it. I'm looking forward to it and will see it in the near future. With Mortal Kombat II and now Mandalorian, this is the most I have gone to the movies in a while.

@marcsh @SoraFaust Correct. Usually on platforms like Twitter, most of the vocal minority that complain are wrong because they offer nothing constructive. They'll be mad because a woman is the lead or her chest is "too small" or it includes a pronoun because it is bad to show respect to people.

@ShadowsGamingco @SoraFaust The info is super noisy. People having fun are rarely posting, while folks that see a legit issue _or_ that want a slightly different game are posting a lot So that has to be teased out People can also zero in on very subtle stuff or get something just radically wrong

I hate the way some people act like kids getting annoyed when you suddenly turn off their TV or game is proof they’re “addicted to technology.” No… sometimes people just don’t like having something they’re actively focused on randomly interrupted. If I’m reading a book and someone walks over, snatches it out of my hands, and turns off the light, I’m going to be irritated too. That’s not addiction. That’s a normal human reaction to someone being unnecessarily rude. You’re not making some deep statement about society. You’re just being annoying.

Missed Star Fox Zero? That's your loss. Not because it was flawless. It had real problems. But because the people who actually put the time in got something most of you refused to even try. The control system was excellent once you stopped treating it like a broken twin-stick game. Motion aiming on the GamePad while steering with the stick created a completely different rhythm. You had to actually lead shots. You had to manage your movement and your targeting separately. It rewarded practice in a way almost no other on-rails shooter has managed since. The more you played, the more precise and expressive it felt. It wasn't a gimmick. It was a proper skill-based aiming system that most people never gave a real chance. The loudest criticism almost always came from the same place: people who played for twenty minutes, got frustrated, and decided the whole game was broken. They never adapted. They never learned the rhythm. They just confirmed their own bias and moved on. Zero tried to evolve the formula instead of repeating it. It used the Wii U hardware properly instead of ignoring it. Some of the levels and set pieces were genuinely strong. The co-op was fun. The bosses had personality. It had ambition. And it got absolutely roasted for daring to be different. Now we're all celebrating a 64 remake and a bunch of the same voices are acting like Zero was some embarrassing low point that proved the series can't try new things. As if the problem was the attempt itself and not the fact that a huge chunk of the audience refused to meet it halfway. You didn't want a new Star Fox game. You wanted the one you already knew how to play perfectly on the first try. Zero asked something from the player. A lot of people decided that was unacceptable and review-bombed it into the ground before it ever had a real shot. If you bounced off it after a short session and never went back, you didn't actually play Star Fox Zero. You just tried it, got annoyed, and decided your first impression was the whole story. The new 64 remake might be great. I hope it is. But some of us are still wondering what the series could have become if more people had been willing to actually engage with what Zero was doing instead of demanding it feel exactly like the game they already mastered twenty years ago. Am I wrong, or did most of the people who called it a disaster never actually learn the aiming system?
