As many of us know, many judges in Alberta are appointed by Ottawa and do not serve the interests of Albertans. However, this decision does not stop the current collection of signatures by Stay Free Alberta and signatures can continue to be collected until May 2nd. The Independence movement planned for this. There are still many ways forward. One option is to have a third party validate the signatures and present the results to the Premier to demonstrate the democratic mandate for Albertans to hold a referendum. This process will not be derailed by activist judges.

Yet the government has continued without humility, without apology, and without change to the approach. This is an insult to the democratic process.

🚨🚨This is an important message. This is all being done for a reason, it's to exhaust you and get you to disengage. Do not take the bait. The Liberals have had a practical majority since 2019 with the NDP and the Bloc. They can pass any legislation they want at any time, they don't need the floor crossers. They're doing this to discourage you so severely you stop trying, allowing them to rule for another 10 years. Many conservatives will help them by giving up and encouraging others to give up too. This is why the Liberals are trying so hard to get floor crossers, it is wildly demoralizing. It's not about a majority it's about demoralizing their opposition.
