Today is my 3rd anniversary of owning my Lucid Air Touring! 2025 was certainly an interesting year for this poor car, including a HV battery pack replacement and AC compressor disaster within 5 months of each other, but some good adventures were had, as well.

Captain Kirk may be in for a bigger fight with the Tesla folks than he ever had with Klingons or Romulans. 👀🍿

And for the #teslarites who don’t understand 500 miles. Time is money. How long does it take to pump a tank of gas? 4-5 mins versus 30. Early last week I went up to the Yosemite area (about 300 miles.) I got up there, did my thing and got gas (5 mins) and drove back. With a Tesla. It would be drive up (maybe on one charge) charge up 20-30 mins, do my thing. Drive back, stop along the way to recharge (again probably another 20 mins…) That’s too long. 500 would be one recharge so it’s 10 mins gas versus 29-30 mins which I would consider.🤷🏼

@OracleofMusk Every automaker, including Tesla, has issues that require recalls/repairs under warranty/buybacks. Cybertruck seems to have been a bit problematic in this regard.

I LOVE my car. Daily driver. But each time Spotify starts crackling or the audio just stops on a road trip I do get insanely mad. And at the same time it’s so fun to drive. I love how easy it is to place the car exactly where I want to go on the road. It can be peaceful or wild fast. It’s so fun. But I need to have consistent music!

Second time today having to back into Superchargers with no backup camera. Will likely clear with soft reboot, but this is getting old @LucidMotors as bumped into this one. Earlier today it slammed on brakes a foot short. 🤦‍♂️ Gravity is such a great driving luxury machine with incredible packaging & 95% of the time the software is excellent. The last 5% is aggravating at times. Last update fixed so much, but still lots to work on for the software team.

@Michael_L_Rauch @ChadMoran @LucidMotors Third time is the charm with Cosmos, let's hope. If not, hopefully they can shift to making the best drivetrain components in the business and leaving the rest to more established automakers.

@ShaneLindblom @ChadMoran @LucidMotors Think the engineers had too much say & there wasn’t enough focus in software talent. Which for an EV start up seems so odd? The actually cars drive insanely well, but too many are being put off with niggles & glitches. Which is a damn shame.

@ShaneLindblom @ChadMoran @LucidMotors Yeah I heard that on their video. Hope not as that’s just sad. Have hopes for the Uber, Nuro & Lucid partnership. But they need to walk before talking about running marathons.

@Michael_L_Rauch @ChadMoran @LucidMotors IIRC, Tijmen mentioned someone from Lucid said the robotaxi stuff was conjured up basically last minute, or something to that effect. More fluff for the investors, possibly.

@Michael_L_Rauch @ShaneLindblom @LucidMotors I'm kind of over software defined vehicles that don' have good software. I've had frustrations with Rivian. It's still a delight sometimes but when the whole vehicle is built around software and the software isn't good ... I dunno really detracts from the experience.

Well @LucidMotors Gravity is champ in this road trip overall, but still some bugs popping up. Nowhere near what they were in beginning, but Houston we still have problems. Mostly annoyances, but at same time irritating. Shame as the damn car is so freaking good overall with just a couple of glitches: cameras went away till reboot, had on screen freeze for a minute & oddball warnings that aren’t real once or twice. I will say the navigation & route planning is acceptable, but not great. Whoever they are using for maps & navigation is weak sauce. The logic needs some work too & the multiple route options suggesting out of your way longer route arriving with less range is totally unnecessary. It’s confusing more than helpful.

Model 3 Performance has the best interior hands down (hand in my case) for the money. Such a nice place to be.

If the implementation is the same as Gravity then it should bring some additional life into the Air. For the numbers it sells, I don’t think the Air needs a major overhaul (waste of money) but it would be good to see an updated model with the Gravity screen layout and DDPro 2 hardware.

@Mattlinn01 Anyone interested in an Air I would urge to do their research, take multiple test drives, and carefully consider if lackluster software is a big detractor for you. Also, STRONGLY consider buying used, as you can get lightly used Airs for at least 50-60% off original MSRP.

@Mattlinn01 For someone that's looking for an interesting blend of performance, luxury, and practicality it can still be a compelling option. As time goes on it'll be harder to recommend as the software and hardware falls further behind. AFAIK there are no significant updates planned for Air
