These reports could not be further from the truth.
On the contrary, just two weeks ago our government brought forward clear action and ambitious investment in the Spring Economic Update to protect at-risk whale populations, not only on the B.C. coast, but all of Canada’s coastlines. Furthermore, our government is working to protect up to 700,000 square km of oceans in Canada over the next four years.   We would not take any actions that would undermine these important strategies and substantial investments. Our approach to assessments isn’t about cutting corners, but improving coordination, efficiency, and long-term planning resulting in faster decisions, without weakening oversight or standards.     We are committed to building big things fast that connect and grow a strong Canadian economy, though always building in a manner that is sustainable for our environment, in solidarity with our workers, and in partnership with Indigenous peoples. bit.ly/4nx3ZDN

I'm thrilled to say I'll be taking on a new position as Bloomberg's Ottawa bureau chief, though also daunted at having to succeed the indefatigable @ldhillonkane. This bureau is such a strong team and I can't wait to keep elevating our work higher.

This is terrific - one Conservative-supporting idiot accuses me of being a Liberal shill; his equally dim Liberal counterpart says I am a dyed-in-the-wool Conservative. A perfect Goldilocks moment in #cdnpol

@626_Productions @IvisonJ Pick one article and show me where he doesn’t loose it on the CPC in a story about Liberal failure or corruption. Libs are lonely living on the top of the mountain with the burden of always being correct and above everything and everyone!

Despite firmer GDP growth, 🇨🇦’s labour market remains weak. This year, 112,000 jobs have been lost, with full-time losses outpacing part-time gains. Our Economist, Anupriya Gangopadhyay, says the shift toward part-time work is worth watching. Read more ➡️ hubs.ly/Q04f-CC10

Investors and project proponents need predictability and efficiency to transform our economy and build major projects faster in Canada. That’s why, today, my colleague Minister @stevenmackinnon and I announced the launch of two discussion papers to engage Canadians on proposed reforms to streamline federal reviews and ensure decision-making timelines take no longer than one-year once all information from the project proponent has been received. This is a part of our plan to create a stronger, more competitive, and more independent Canadian economy. To learn more: canada.ca/en/one-canadia…
