Joe Ziegler's Marathon blog post is MEATY with LOADS to unpack. For me, I am excited there is talks of Season 5 and beyond, but a big point of contention... PvE.
Yes, the game needs it to bring more players in and I am 100% on board. BUT, Bungie has a big task on their hand CONVERTING these PvE players to the PvP activities and most importantly... the end game.
At the rate by which the player health pool is right now, splitting the player base even more could be really really bad. The matches and queue times for the other playlists would be more unbearable than they are now.
If Bungie can figure out how to draw the magic out of the PvE player, and make them engage in other content, it could be fantastic. But if the PvE players stick strictly to their PvE experience well... the rest of us are cooked.
Time will tell. 🐛

Actually liked when Cross was making good content for the game but if he is just gonna turn into a doom poster that shit is sad, he really just wants more Destiny to farm out content on his niche.
Imma say it Destiny 2 has felt dead since the light n dark saga ended. We need a D3 in a few years but Marathon is the focus and had everything stacked against it even YouTubers like him making doom posts constantly for views. Truth is Marathon is a better pvp, and a better looter shooter than Destiny. The loot has value and is way easier to understand it's value, & build crafting. Destiny has always felt like there was too many cooks in the kitchen.
Lore and story told poorly through the game.
crap endgame unless you had constant people to play with.
