there's no language recognized as official apart from Bangla. Bangla is state language while english is second language used for govm related work, that's it. In a country of 20cr people, less than 300K pre-partition folks speaks in that language and that too not much often. most of them too old to even learn a new language while any growing kid from these descent speaks bangla in dhakaiya accent.
