I like taking the laziest / most-minimal-possible approach to development. E.g., right now I test rendering changes by taking before/after screenshots, dragging them into Chrome and flipping back and forth with keyboard shortcuts. Would this work on a huge team with a 10-million

@GustavSterbrant @Meetem4 @matiasgoldberg Better approach (CUDA and Metal): MyData *data = (MyData*)ptr; Where ptr is a GPU pointer. Buffer bindings are just GPU pointers. MyData can include any mix of 8/16/32 bit fields and vectors of them. And typed 64-bit pointers to other structures.

Vulkan 1.X and DirectX 12 were designed for 12-13 year old GPUs. They are starting to show their age. We need a clean break soon. There is too much needless API complexity and limitations to work around those ancient GPUs' quirks.

I wish Sony could release firmware for its old hardware (Vita, PSP, PS3, PS2, PS1) and open them up for devs, they aren't making money on those devices anymore. Just release the SDKs and a Firmware. It will get so much good will from the community around it.

@thomasmahler for me I'm more productive and have better focus because everyone around me int he office is also super focused. I do not have the space to create a separate work environment at home.

Could someone explain to me how a Return to Office policy benefits your team if you're a software developer? 🤔 I understand that people can't work from home if they have to work at a factory, operating machines, etc., but after COVID happened, I was under the impression that we'd all see how just getting to the office is a bit of a waste of time. I used to work at a place that took me an hour to get to and I ran the numbers: One hour commute means 2 hours per day. Given a five day work week, that's 10 hours per week. 4 weeks in a month, so we're at 40 hours per month. That's an entire week of work per month of your employees just sitting in a car, doing nothing productive. Wouldn't you rather that they'd spend that time with their families or getting work done? What are those magical interactions people have around watercoolers in the office that apparently make productivity skyrocket that can't be done if they're working from home?
