Regarding the recent application by @NFUtweets to allow 'emergency' use of neonics on sugar beet, this image explains the problem: most of the pesticide goes into soils, leaches into waterways, & is taken up by wildflowers & hedgerows. Only 5% in crop. nature.com/articles/natur…

I am saddened to hear about the death of a conservation hero of mine - Tony Soper aged 95. He inspired me as a child with his smooth knowledgeable style. He was a wonderful man. Rest in nature Tony Soper ❤️

Happy #waderwednesday. Our birds left the HighArctic& are landing on our shores now. They're starved& exhausted. Any disruption of their feeding or resting could endanger their lives. Please give them plenty of space and don't allow your dogs to chase them under any circumstances

@SharonBzzz @shirleysampso19 Easiest thing to do Sharon is download the @iRecordWildlife App and you can put any and everything on there and it will find its way to the county Recorder. The Essex moth recording system is a bit behind the curve compared to Suffolk.

I'm pretty sure that this is the work of the larvae of Fig Skeletoniser moths (Choreutis nemorana) and gather that they haven't been in this area, #Manningtree, very long. Should I report this somewhere? @stuttonsparrows @shirleysampso19

My daughter's Y3 teacher is the absolute GOAT. She single-handedly crocheted a mini-me of each kid in her class as an end of year gift. Approx. 8hrs per doll. Even the hairstyles and clothes are spot on. What a legend.

In the last 2 days I’ve seen a daughter supported when her parents got parted & lost abroad, then an elderly man have his tools stolen & a GoFundMe to get him new ones. This site doesn’t always have to hateful. Great good can come when we use it well. Let’s give good more power.
