I remember the night I lay next to my girlfriend (now ex) in a shared apartment and I just broke down. Rentals were due, I had no petrol in my car, no cash, my business had fallen apart and I was just mentally and physically exhausted. Siavonga, #Zambia 🇿🇲🛩️ needs an airport more than Choma does. LVI airport is close enough to support Choma with all its transport needs, for a long time to come. Siavonga on the other hand needs to be able to take direct flights from Livingstone, Lusaka, Ndola, and Mfuwe. There's a whole set of tourists who'd prefer fishing on Lake Kariba instead of the Zambezi river itself. The whole houseboat experience, etc. As it is one has to drive almost 4 hours from the nearest airport to reach the lake. Lake Kariba is the largest man-made lake in the world. Zambia needs to lean into that designation when it comes to tourism marketing. Marketing Livingstone and Siavonga as a package is essential. The Copperbelt is growing. Think of all the people who'd like to be able to take a weekend on the lake instead of at Livingstone.
