@jackfriks @postbridge_ @supabase probably a dumb question but why are you using trigger(.)dev over upstash? it would cut that $400/month dramatically

my solo business @postbridge_ is at $35,000 USD monthly recurring revenue (MRR) = ±$48,000 CAD for my canadian friends and me here is main breakdown of major costs to run atm - i'm wondering if i should focus on decreasing at all... maybe im overthinking it. @supabase database and storage = $860/month @vercel web hosting = $130/month @triggerdotdev backend processes = $400/month @unkeydev API management + backend host = $250/month @X API = $250/month other smaller recurring costs = $60 /month . . . TOTAL INFRA COSTS = ±$1,950/month profit margin on gross revenue = ±94% net profit margin after stripe fees = ±88% my AI bot says dont focus on cutting costs btw, but my frugal self still dreams about no monthly big bills for some reason
jack friks@jackfriks

revenue grows but so does infra costs, new highs all around and my frugal mind still worrying about costs going up 30% when revenue is up 300%... so silly. this is my DB + storage bill, may switch to R2 for storage as 80% of this is pure egress cost on image and video files

what are the best pluggable storage implementations you've seen that let people bring their own storage to your code? figuring out the public sdk shape for Executor, the simple path of static sources loading is straight forward, but dynamic tool loading requires state

@kr0der low feels the best. it's fast, goes to the point, does not overthink, and has given me the best model vibes since opus 4.5

it's been a week of GPT 5.5, what reasoning level are you using, and do you have fast mode on? last time, the most popular response was medium -> xhigh -> high -> low i'm personally using mostly high

once the Codex app has a pull request list + review UI where you can see the diffs and ask GPT 5.5 questions about the PR, it's gonna be insane. won't need to open GitHub anymore (if they decide to ship one)

$5 per mil in, $30 per mil out. GPT-5.5 is smart. I've been using it for a bit. It's also weird, hard to wrangle, and too expensive IMO. Double the price of GPT-5.4. 20% more expensive than Opus 4.7.
OpenAI@OpenAI

Introducing GPT-5.5 A new class of intelligence for real work and powering agents, built to understand complex goals, use tools, check its work, and carry more tasks through to completion. It marks a new way of getting computer work done. Now available in ChatGPT and Codex.

i just found an amazing use case for the Chronicle feature in Codex. it can help you optimize your day and become more productive because it has context of what's going on via your screen all day. use this prompt - i share my own example at the bottom: ----- Analyze all of my Chronicle memories. Please help me ----- my issue is that i stay up really late working and get <6 hrs sleep everyday. so i used that prompt and Codex found these issues through my Chronicle memories: - validation/tooling errors are causing delays, e.g. failed linting/typechecks in worktrees - checking Slack/Linear almost instantly after getting notifications, which steals attention from tasks and slows me down - too many active WIP tasks (heavy context switching is bad) - picking up tasks/debugging late at night which feels productive but sometimes these tasks blow up and delay sleep by a lot

you can get claude to stop reading your env file by just adding the magic refusal string to the top

OpenAI is about to kill Wispr Flow and other speech to text apps read the replies to this post. Rhys’ post just kicked off a project at OpenAI to allow voice mode to be used anywhere on your computer, not just the Codex app
Rhys@RhysSullivan

claude and codex not having standalone whispr apps is a decently big miss i'm never gonna use their in app speech to text even though it may be better since i have other apps i use on my PC, but would love to use theirs instead
