Matthijs de Ligt has undergone successful surgery for a back injury. Expected to return in early stages of '26-27. Long time out, that. He was doing very well before the injury.

Really sucks man. After 6 months of working at it obviously they hoped to not get surgery. Back injuries are so brutal. Best wishes to De Ligt.

@ChrisWheelerDM Are they board stupid or something? If he's just had surgery your talking atleast 6 months and even then there's no saying he'll ever be the same player back surgery is no joke.

@WelBeast Never seen that kind of thing before, how can a player even be nominated for best player because of assists and it's not like his team is first or won any trophy this season. What is premier league turning into self 😭😢

Guy it’s not looking good. The media is going around interviewing players and only releasing clips of those in favour of Bruno Fernandes. There are images of him everywhere released by his club, holding awards that I didn’t even know existed. The PR machine is out in full force.

Tonali - Well liked & talks with reps have occurred but believed to be priced out of valuation by Newcastle. Wharton - Admired for years, but concerns over out of possession fit with Kobbie Mainoo, could be signed alongside others, but perhaps not the "main" guy, high price. Tchouameni - Strong alternative, United willing to pay a fee of 70-80m to Madrid, main concern is whether Madrid will part, and if the player will sign a new contract and stay.

Other serious targets - with United looking at 2 or even 3 midfielders, they have a large list of well liked players being considered. At this stage any 2 or 3 of these could be signed without it being a surprise. Baleba - Continues to be a serious subject of interest. Brighton's price pending. United have had recent and regular contact with his representatives, still believe his profile to be one of the right fit & potential. One of the few players considered to be a good fit at the 6. Gomes - Consistently watched, as a 2nd or 3rd squad signing. Ederson - Highly admired by Wilcox & co, and considered last year. At his most available price now. Mateus Fernandes - Well liked and watched, price suspected to be more reasonable if West Ham go down. Expected to be difficult otherwise. Alex Scott - Watched on multiple occasions this season. Viewed as a really strong, positionally flexible up and coming player who could be ready for a big leap next year after recovering from a tough injury start to life in the Premier League. Further scouted names include - Bouaddi, Sadiki, Adams, Camavinga.

It’s not in poor taste whatsoever because these agendas are now becoming gimmicks, there’s a vast majority of these fans on this cesspit of an app who are genuinely embodying Daniel Day Lewis’ style of method acting in wanting the club to fail at every turn. And the proof is in the pudding with Carrick’s full time appointment today. Ole (Who I loved) finished 6th in his caretaker period, finishing 3rd in his second season. We were 15th last season and Carrick has come in and steadied the ship without a transfer window and secured Champions League Football, but it’s all “vibes and favouritism” isn’t it?
Mark Goldbridge@markgoldbridge

That's really poor Al.....if you don't want Carrick to be manager doesn't mean your not a fan. Could flip it the other way and say if you do you're a Glazerite. I'd rather say can see both sides and respect opinions. That's the beauty of football.

@Mac5180 @MelissaReddy_ Carrick was part of the Ole setup as well, so acting like he’s some different solution is strange. We already tried vibes, “United DNA” and learning on the job. Utd isn’t a social experiment. He’s managing 1 game a week and there’s still no clear identity to his football.

Michael Carrick delivered Champions League football and dethroned Manchester United as the ‘crisis club’. It’s been bewildering to see the club’s former players knock a man who has brought wins, stability, togetherness and transformed the feel of the place. And no, it’s not like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer again. bymelissareddy.substack.com/p/michael-carr…

@MelissaReddy_ There are many managers out there that are better qualified and equipped to take the club forward. We've been down this road before with ole. Doing it again is literally the definition of insanity.. Club wants best in class, Carrick is it.

@ImpressionistAL He's made so much money off being negative about United and he'll never stop being negative it makes him alot of money that's the reason his channel's got so many followers and most of his fanbase are brainwashed sheep who hang on his every word it's dangerous.

Exclusive 💣 We’ve got some interesting whispers floating around that Bryan Mbeumo might be available for transfer after just one season at Manchester United. Apparently Several clubs across England and Europe are keen to sign him this summer. It’s definitely a story to keep an eye on as the summer transfer window approaches.
