HOW TO BE INTELLIGENT  In the Kalika Puran, Shiva loses his dear wife Sati and is filled with grief. Then Brahma tells him that grief is one of the 11 enemies of intelligence, and makes a complete list of of them. Conquer these enemies to be intelligent. If you can't immediately understand why these 11 things make you lose intelligence, just think about it, you'll figure it out. 1. Shokha - grief  2. Krodha - anger  3. Lobha - possesiveness entitlement 4. Kama - lust 5. Moha - attachment to pleasurable states of mind  6. Paratmata - subservience, not wanting to make mistakes, scared to get a bad reputation and therefore waiting for instuctions  7. Irsha - not wanting to share knowlege or access 8. Mana - jingoistic pride , dehumanising others  9. Vichikitsa - indecision, lack of confidence  10. Krupa - helping those who don't deserve help. Spoonfeeding and stunting others' growth and learning  11. Asuya - envy  12. Jugupsa - abhorrence, instead of solving problems PS don't be impatient. Even Shiva took time to overcome his grief, even though he had Brahma's help.

Upon landing in Rome, had the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Meloni over dinner followed by a visit to the iconic Colosseum. We exchanged perspectives on a wide range of subjects. Looking forward to our talks today, where we will continue the conversation on how to boost the India-Italy friendship. @GiorgiaMeloni

North Karnataka can fire Karnataka’s next phase of growth. If Karnataka has to become a $1 trillion economy, North and Central Karnataka cannot be left behind. Today, at the flag-off of the new direct Mumbai-Bengaluru train, I requested Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw ji for a High-Speed Rail / Bullet Train corridor between Mumbai and Bengaluru via Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad and Davangere. Rapid connectivity to North Karnataka will be a game-changer for jobs, industry, investment and opportunity. We will pursue this at every level with full commitment. North Karnataka deserves its rightful share in Karnataka’s growth story.

Astrology hack #467 Sun rules the Navel (Nabhi). A dry naval reflects a disconnected Sun which could lead to loss of natural authority, weak digestion, and feeling disrespected by peers. Apply a single drop of warm Ghee or Almond Oil to your navel every night before sleep. This ancient Nabhi Chikitsa rewires the subconscious bring authority, improving digestion and respect

Since we published the 1st module on @ZerodhaVarsity (2014), there has been one constant request - to release the module in book format. I think many still prefer holding a book in hand, flipping through pages, highlighting, and taking notes. For all of them, here is the book 😊 This book is for those who want to get started with the stock markets, but dont know where and how to start. Thanks to Trisha Bora and @HarperCollinsIN for nudging me constantly to work on this book :) It feels odd to say this - but the link to preorder the book is in the comments below 😬

2026 BENGALURU SUMMER: SEASON REVIEW ======================================= Good morning, friends! Let's do a quick review of the Bengaluru 2026 summer so far. To begin with, I have shared the summer phase data (March–May) for the last 16 years, starting from 2010. On average, Bengaluru crosses the summer threshold of ~34°C on approximately 49 days per summer season. The month that contributes the maximum number of Summer days shared below: Feb = 1 March = 17 April = 22 May = 9 Now lets turn our gaze to summer of 2026: Feb = 0 March = 6 April [1st to 20th] = 15 Note: -As you can see, both February and March were relatively pleasant. March recorded only 6 days that crossed the summer threshold of ~34°C. -April started quietly, but summer temperatures began consistently after the 5th. While we have seen many 36°C days this April, this is not unprecedented. -At this point, it looks like April 2026 will end with around 24 days of summer temperatures (34°C and above). This falls well within the normal range of approximately 22 such days. -Therefore, despite a warm April, we are currently on track for a normal or slightly below-normal summer this year. -The only notable feature has been the frequency of 36°C days in the last seven days, but even this does not represent a major anomaly. Social media may sensationalize the situation and claim that Bengaluru has turned into the Thar Desert. However, such narratives require actual numbers and evidence to hold up. Subjective experiences, while valid personally, cannot be presented as objective reality that withstands scrutiny. Anyway, hold on friends — better days are just around the corner. In another 7–8 days, we should start seeing a mix of on-and-off summer temperatures. By mid-May, we can expect more days settling around 32°C. #Bengaluru #SUMMER2026

@kodlady Students should be taught or say exposed to different subjects and careers so that they can try taking subjects and pursue their instincts rather than society saying them do engineering and get job in IT

@kodlady Question is why stick to 3 subjects pcm,why not a combination of commerce and science subjects, there is huge possibility of students having interest in physics n economics at the same time, fundamentals are same and will be tested in same way hence they score such marks

I know 5 students who took the PUC exams this year, and all scored 550+, with 95+ in PCM. Their PUC scores are higher than their SSLC scores! Something unusual during our times. We all know PU colleges have cracked the pattern and know the exact types of questions that appear from particular chapters, which is fine. Students are made to repeat mock tests multiple times. But when the level of preparation has gone up, shouldn’t the difficulty of the exams go up too? What is the credibility of the board when these 100s of students who score 98% were unable to make it to JEE advanced on the other side? Yes, make it accessible for those aiming to score in the 40–50 range, but exceptional scores shouldn’t be normalized. It undermines the credibility of the board.

Game theory proves that you must always be prepared for confrontation. Regardless of how successful, how liked, or how loved you are, you will face opposition. New threats emerge, and former allies won't be driven by the same incentives as you anymore. To find out what drives your enemies and allies, you must look at their past. Remember that behaviors repeat; the past helps reveal what their true intentions might be. Peace is maintained through readiness, not naivety.

The fastest way to undermine a child's thinking is to praise them for the right answer. When you say Good job, you are training your child to think about your approval. You are training them to perform for you. A Socratic parent asks: Why do you think that? They do not announce whether the answer is correct. They ask follow-up questions. They present evidence that contradicts the claim. They create the conditions for the child to discover the weakness in their own reasoning. Getting a child to pause and think is the entire victory. In a conventional classroom, Good job means compliance with the teacher's version of knowledge. In a Socratic environment, independent judgment is the goal.

I demanded in Parliament that PATERNITY LEAVE should be a legal right in India. When a child is born, both parents are congratulated. But caregiving responsibility falls on one. The mother. A father should not have to choose between caregiving for his newborn and keeping his job. And a mother should not have to go through childbirth & recovery without her husband’s support Right after childbirth the woman, needs her husband’s presence the most. The husband’s caregiving responsibility towards his wife is equally important. I raised this issue in Parliament because caregiving is a shared responsibility. Our laws must reflect that.

The most important life skill: Learning to reset quickly. Bad conversation? Move on. Bad day? Don’t carry it forward. Missed workout? Get back the next day. Poor decision? Learn, adjust, continue. You can’t control what happens. But you can control how long it owns you. #wisdom
