@TheExtremeMusi1 My favorite and my vote for greatest rock album ever made. Stones with a gritty, archaeological tour through the entire genealogy of rock and roll. A masterpiece.

Voters fled the Dems like never before under Obama. He skated by to a second term buoyed by media fellatio. His legacy historically is he was the president who brought us Trump. And it wasn’t just the correspondents’ dinner—Obama’s celebrity presidency was a direct prelude to Trumpism.

This is recency bias. Obama was a fantastic president, he had numerous marquee legislative and diplomatic achievements while his party underwent a metamorphosis and Republican dug in their heels over every action.

Obama’s presidency ended health insurance denials for pre existing conditions, we’ve memory holed how horrible that was. Gay marriage legalized, normalized relations with Cuba, JCPOA signed, Dodd-Frank regulations and recession recovery.
☭Kennya☭@K3nB3n

Obama was president for 8 consecutive years. The Democrats held the presidency for 12 years in a 16 year span. How did your life materially changed during their reign? Was it mostly just the same nonsense? Did you change tax brackets? Did you life significantly change?

🚨 The Strait of Hormuz is open again. Just like it was on February 28th. Death, destruction, billions spent and we ended up right where we started.

@phl43 Watching these shitlib tards try to resurrect Obama’s piss poor legacy is so sad. This is not even close to the same deal, and is being made under vastly more advantageous terms for the US. Nice try.

It would be hilarious if the Trump administration ended up recreating the JCPOA from first principles, but not as hilarious as the fact that 99% of his supporters, after spending years criticizing the JCPOA, would call that a stroke of genius.

🚨 SCOOP: The U.S. and Iran are negotiating over a three-page plan to end the war, with one element under discussion being that the U.S. would release $20 billion in frozen Iranian funds in return for Iran giving up its stockpile of enriched uranium. axios.com/2026/04/17/ira…

@JayFivekiller Exactly. It wasn’t Dominion. It wasn’t crazy shit like that. It was legal and illegal mail-in ballot shit having to do with COVID. We’re never going to see those types of vote numbers again…for a reason.

The simplest explanation for 2020 was that Democrats engaged in good old-fashioned ballot stuffing in five Democrat controlled cities in five key states: Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit, Milwaukee and Phoenix.

@bumbadum14 My favorite chart: bellwether counties were magically inaccurate in 2020.

@DerekPederson3 Israel forced Hamas out of the most sensitive areas and won’t ever let them back. They decimated their ranks. The peace process is being driven by Israel and a friendly US administration, free of any bullshit UN nonsense. That’s…a pretty resounding victory.

The fixation on the civilian casualties is misguided for that reason. Of course I do not question that a lot of collateral damage is going to be inevitable in fighting a war in a place like that. But in order to be a just war it needs to result in a better future.

I supported the war to remove Hamas from power after October 7th, but Israel's supporters have got to own up to the fact that, barring something unexpected happening this was far worse than any of the United States' wars in the Middle East.

The arguments for the Electoral College are all basically terrible and its original purpose (so that elites could block the masses from electing a populist demagogue) is clearly a failure.
James Surowiecki@JamesSurowiecki

There's no good civic argument for the electoral college. It was arguably necessary to ensure the ratification of the Constitution, but it's an anti-democratic device that gives some American citizens far more voting power than others, based purely on where they live.

@jacob_gramegna Obviously they could lose ten in a row from here and be .500…so it that sense they are ten games above .500. However, if they had lost five more along the way, they’d be .500. A bit confusing, but I am with you and always use the former construction.

We only have 7 tax brackets. The fallacy of the flat tax idea is that reducing from 7 to 1 bracket will make any difference. The problem with the tax code is that it shifts the burden of taxes onto the backs of the middle class instead of distributing it fairly and making the rich pay their share.

Flat tax. Whether you make $1000 or $100 million. A fixed percentage for everybody. And that’s it. A one-page tax form. No bullshit. Everybody pays a reasonable and equitable amount. Everyone - from the wealthiest to the poorest - have skin in the game.
