Some people still proudly call this country “جمہوری پاکستان.” They are either blind, or deliberately blindfolded by fear or vested interests. It would be more honest to admit, however shameful it may feel, that we are living under martial law, rather than pretending everything is democratic while people continue to be exploited, silenced, humiliated, and even killed. All of this appears to serve the ego and interests of a small, unaccountable elite.

وزیراعلیٰ بلوچستان نے چند دن پہلے دعویٰ کیا تھا کہ “اب بلوچستان سے کوئی لاپتہ نہیں ہوگا” اور اگر کسی نوجوان کو حراست میں لیا گیا تو 12 گھنٹوں میں اہلِ خانہ کو رسائی دی جائے گی۔ تو پھر سیف اللہ ولد عطاءاللہ کو 12 مارچ کی رات تقریباً 2 بجے مبینہ طور پر سی ٹی ڈی اور دیگر اداروں کے اہلکار اٹھا کر کہاں لے گئے؟ پانچ دن گزر گئے نہ کوئی قانونی وجہ، نہ مقام کی اطلاع، نہ کسی de-radicalisation center میں فیملی سے ملاقات۔ اوپر سے ظلم یہ کہ خاندان تین دن سے تھانہ صدر میں ایف آئی آر درج کروانے کی کوشش کر رہا ہے مگر ایس ایچ او یہ کہہ کر انکار کر رہا ہے کہ ایک ادارے کے خلاف دوسرا ادارہ ایف آئی آر نہیں لکھ سکتا۔ کیا بلوچستان میں قانون صرف کمزوروں کے لیے ہے؟ وزیراعلیٰ سلطان راہی! آپ کے بڑے بڑے وعدے کہاں گئے؟ اگر ریاست خود ہی شہریوں کو اٹھا کر غائب کرے اور پولیس ایف آئی آر تک درج نہ کرے تو پھر انصاف کہاں ملے گا؟ سیف اللہ کو فوری بازیاب کیا جائے اور اس کے خاندان کو انصاف دیا جائے۔ @PakSarfrazbugti #EndEnforcedDisappearences #ReleaseSaifullhaBaloch

Iman Mazari has consistently stood for constitutional rights, freedom of expression, and justice for the marginalized. Silencing those who speak up for human rights only exposes fear of accountability, not strength of governance.

Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha were arrested today while going towards a courtroom. That fact alone should trouble anyone who still believes access to justice exists in Pakistan. For Baloch, this scene is painfully familiar. We have watched our loved ones leave home to comply with the law and vanish before reaching it. We have stood outside courts being told there is “no information,” while knowing exactly who took them and why. What is happening to Imaan and Hadi today follows the same disregard for human dignity. They were on their way to face trial. The state stopped them before they could arrive. The court then warned that their right to defend themselves would be taken away if they failed to appear. Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha are being targeted for standing with the disappeared, for insisting that Baloch suffering is not a footnote, and for refusing to accept that silence is the price of survival. Their arrest is a warning to anyone who crosses the invisible line between observing injustice and naming it. We reject this use of the courts as instruments of intimidation. We demand their immediate release and the full restoration of their legal rights. And we say this clearly: a system that blocks the road to court and then punishes people for not reaching it is not broken. It is working exactly as it was built to work. Balochistan has been living inside that truth for a long time. Now those who spoke for us are being made to walk through it.

A state that survives through the power of the gun inevitably breeds violence, and this is precisely the reality unfolding before us. The rising trend of violence is not accidental; it is the direct outcome of a system that relies on force instead of justice, repression instead of dialogue. In its colony, Balochistan, the state has failed to provide government employees with wages and allowances that allow even a basic standard of living in today’s unbearable inflation. Workers who serve the public are pushed into economic hardship, denied their rightful dues, and then punished when they gather peacefully to demand what is legally theirs. Time and again, peaceful assemblies are met not with negotiation, but with batons, arrests, and intimidation. The recent detention of protest leaders at the Quetta Press Club is yet another reminder that even the most basic democratic spaces are no longer tolerated. Raising one’s voice for bread has been criminalized. The Chief Minister and the so-called city administration routinely project an image of a “developing Balochistan.” Billboards, press statements, and staged narratives attempt to sell progress. But the lived reality tells a different story, one marked by oppression, killings, enforced disappearances, and systematic looting of resources. There is no true development where people are stripped of security, dignity, and livelihood. A society cannot prosper when its people are denied the right to peaceful protest, the right to fair wages, and the right to live without fear. What exists today is not development, but control, maintained through force, silence, and suffering. Balochistan does not need propaganda. It needs justice, peace, and the right to live a dignified and prosperous life.

عوام اس پورے نظام کو بغور دیکھیں اور یہ حقیقت سمجھ لیں کہ ریاستی ادارے لوگوں کو محض اس لیے خاموش کر رہے ہیں کہ لاقانونیت، جبر اور استحصال کا موجودہ نظام بغیر کسی مزاحمت کے قائم رکھا جا سکے۔ اختلافی آوازوں کو دبانا دراصل ان پالیسیوں اور اقدامات کو تحفظ فراہم کرنے کی کوشش ہے جو قانون، آئین اور عوامی مفاد کے سراسر خلاف ہیں۔ بلاسفیمی کے نام پر چلنے والے کاروبار کو بے نقاب کرنے پر جیل، جبری گمشدگیوں، غنڈہ گردی اور کرپشن پر سوال اٹھانے پر جیل، ہیلتھ الاؤنس، میرٹ کی پامالی اور بجٹ کی بدانتظامی پر آواز بلند کرنے پر جیل، اور خواتین کے حقوق کی بات کرنے پر بھی جیل—جبکہ قتل و غارت، لوٹ مار اور دھمکیوں کا سلسلہ کھلے عام جاری ہے۔ ایسے حالات میں یہ بات بالکل واضح ہے کہ جن افراد کو “ملکی سلامتی” کے نام پر، “بیرونی ایجنٹ”، “غدار” یا “دہشت گرد” قرار دے کر قید کیا جا رہا ہے، وہ درحقیقت باشعور اور بے قصور شہری ہیں۔ اس کے برعکس، ان کے خلاف جھوٹا بیانیہ گھڑنے والے، دھمکیاں دینے والے، گرفتار کرنے اور ہراساں کرنے والے عناصر خود مجرم، قانون شکن اور ملک کے حقیقی دشمن ہیں۔ کرپشن، بلاسفیمی بزنس، مہنگائی، عوام کا استحصال، جبری گمشدگیاں، ماورائے عدالت قتل اور میرٹ کی پامالی کسی ایک طبقے یا کسی ایک خطے کا مسئلہ نہیں، بلکہ یہ پورے ملک کو اندر سے کھوکھلا کر رہی ہیں اور عوام کو ریاستی نظام سے بدظن کر رہی ہیں۔ آج ایمان مزاری، ماہرنگ، بیبو، گلزادی، بیبرگ، علی وزیر، شاہ جی اور دیگر بے شمار افراد کو اگر کچھ ادارے ناپسند کرتے ہیں اور انہیں خاموش کیا جا رہا ہے تو یہ ان اداروں کی جانب سے اپنے جرائم پر پردہ ڈالنے کا واحد ذریعہ ہے، نہ کہ ان افراد کے مجرم ہونے کا کوئی ثبوت۔ اس تاریخی فسطائیت کے خلاف خاموشی جرم ہے۔ عوام پر لازم ہے کہ وہ حق اور باطل میں فرق کو پہچانیں، جبر کے اس نظام کو مسترد کریں اور انصاف، آئین اور انسانی حقوق کے حق میں اپنی آواز بلند کریں
