I really don’t understand the Ty Simpson love. He had a few good games early in the year but he’s tiny, dealt with a lot of injuries, and plays a chaotic brand of football in the backfield.
Like if your goal is a guy being a version of Brock Purdy, that’s concerning

And please …stop with the “JJ can compete for the starting job with him.” Yea. No. You don’t sign Kyler to compete. You sign him because you intend on him being the starter. JJ’s “starting” career resumes elsewhere. That’s how I see it. Time will tell.

Miami’s salary cap situation is not well understood. 2026 will be a hard pill to swallow because of the amount of empty accruals that need expensing. But after 2026 the pendulum quickly swings opposite direction with their planned payroll not being nearly high enough. Post-2026, they don’t have enough good players attached to their program that are worth paying. Once they get rid of the players they are likely getting rid of, and even after signing guys like De’Von Achane and Aaron Brewer to new deals, they will only have something like $100 million of cash payroll…versus a $330 million salary cap. They need good players post-2026. They need more payroll! Think about that every time you casually dismiss the idea of ruling out e.g. a 2-year, $45 million contract with 3 void years attached for a Malik Willis, a contract structure that likely only requires the team to reserve $5 million of incremental accounting space for 2026.

@Alf_Arteaga People watch the NBA and think tanking can turn around a roster almost instantly by tanking in the NFL. The Willis signing no matter how good or bad it ends up, will have very little effect on this regime.

@Alf_Arteaga It will be interesting. Stefanski does a lot of play action roll outs to left side. He should be under center more and a lot less pistol. Less short throws as well. It will be fun to see how tua and McDaniels fair with new situations. I hope they do well. Not as well as dolphins

Remember all the people that said Tua would never start a game again? well, he got into a good situation within an hour of being released.
Now, his issue is his head injuries that have short circuited his processing. You usually don't come back from that...but rooting for him.
