First time seeing this in my life because my only interaction with 343 Halo was a few minutes of 4 (MCC), going "Wow I hate this," and never touching it again This is not cinema, it evokes nothing. The opening to Halo CE immediately opens up vistas of wonder and mystery.

I have beaten Campaign Evolved on Heroic. Here are my initial thoughts Art direction: Conflicts with and does not adhere or honor the atmosphere and art direction of the original, but is graphically impressive in its own right. Forerunner Structures are still way too shiny and feel overdesigned, a continuation of 343’s Forerunner changes from Halo 4 Gameplay: Feels like a mash between Halo CE, Infinite, and Reach. I minimally or outright ignored sprint as a whole. Gameplay loop is classic Halo but modernized and was very fun Animations: Animations, particularly on weapons feel rushed and unfinished, making the satisfaction of using them lesser than previous entries in the series Levels: The first half of the game feels relatively unchanged from the original, but the quality immediately jumps up on 343 Guilty Spark onwards, genuinely an improvement on the original levels. Overall feelings: I enjoyed it, for its own merits. I will always cherish Combat Evolved as it is my favorite in the series and this is a modernized version of the game which, even for 2001, the original still feels great to play and is readily available on MCC and isn’t going anywhere I give Halo Campaign Evolved an 8/10
