There's a large group of mid-30 somethings who are never going to have kids. They are living like they're in their 20's. Holidays, going out, living at the gym, drinking with their childless mates. They are not prepared to give up any of their time in bringing love (a small child) into the world.
What's really caused this? I don't believe it has anything to do with the cost of raising children. People can live how they like, it is their choice - but I don't understand why people would choose to be an incomplete human being.

I genuinely struggle to understand the twitter left ward position on the Falklands Island.
How is it anti imperial for Britain to hand an island of sheep farmers with no indigenous people for nothing to a country that only exists on US bailouts with an anti leftist president?

Most historical wrongs cannot be righted, and then there is Las Malvinas.
It's true that the whole world is the product of colonial wars and expansion.
For the majority of history it was attack or be attacked, law of the jungle.
But there is a consensus now that that world is a relic of the past and the imperialist, colonial era should be over.
So the question is how do we now address the wrongs of the past?
The Native Americans have a moral right to America but are we really going to kick out hundreds of millions of European settlers?
South America morally belongs to the native peoples but are we really going to kick out hundreds of millions of Spanish and Portuguese settlers and slaves forcibly transported from Africa?
Some wrongs cannot be righted because they happened so long ago and irreversible facts on the ground have been established.
And then there is Las Malvinas. A relic of colonial times but with only 3,000 inhabitants.
This is a colonial injustice and a fact on the ground that can easily be reversed (through negotiation hopefully).
Maybe the British settlers will get to stay after transfer to Argentina. Or maybe they can be relocated to Britain with a compensation package.
It would be much better for the UK to prepare for transfer now rather than face another Argentinian armada in 30 years time. And with the rate of Britain's decline, "our boys" will not have the means or will to face down that armada.

I have always believed Las Malvinas should be given back to Argentina. I even remember getting into a physical fight when I was at primary school with another kid about this issue. I told him that Maggie Thatcher only got involved in the war to get votes and save her premiership. That was just something I heard on TV and I repeated it, but it was true. It's just a question of justice really. We do not live in colonial times anymore, it's just wrong to have a colony 8,000 miles away and stick settlers on it. And give back Gibraltar while you're at it!

Saying the Falklands belong to Argentina is like saying Greenland belongs to the US. There is no historic precedent of the territory ever having belonged to them.
The only claim to sovereignty rests on geographical proximity and the owner being a distant European.

The players have just brought out the banner, "The Malvinas are Argentinian". One of the last territories in the Americas under European colonial rule. FIFA had banned Argentina supporters from making any reference to this cause. Players brought it out regardless.

The Falkland Islanders constitute an artificially imposed population.
You can't place a cactus in the North Pole then make the argument that it belongs there.

@JohnWight1 Colonialism is the subjugation of a native population by a foreign power. If the native population of the Falkland Islands wish to remain British, then the colonial act would be Argentina taking control of the islands, particularly so if they took them by force.
