Another day of Operation Consequences has concluded. The Sheriff’s Department continued a multi-agency deployment targeting street gangs impacting the safety of our communities which resulted in multiple search warrants and felony arrests. Focused enforcement. Strong partnerships. Real results.

I am incredibly proud of the men and women behind Operation Consequences. The work they do is often thankless, but it does not go unnoticed. I made sure they know how much they are appreciated, because of their efforts, our communities are safer. @sbcountysheriff @SanBernardinoPD @SBCprobation

Congratulations to Lt. Erik Smoot on his retirement after 23 years of dedicated service. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Erik served with distinction in corrections, patrol, narcotics, employee resources, and aviation. He also led the Sheriff’s Employee Assistance Team, showing unwavering commitment to supporting our employees during times of need. Thank you for your service to both our country and our community. Communication is key when leading one of the largest Sheriff’s Departments in California, spanning over 20,000 square miles. The Sheriff and his Executive Staff meet regularly with all station and division commanders to ensure we stay connected, informed, and aligned. These meetings foster meaningful discussions about what’s happening in our communities and within our department—so we can continue to serve effectively and respond proactively. @sbcountysheriff

When you take 20 firearms, including 4 ghost guns, out of the hands of prohibited individuals, you know you’re making a real difference in keeping our communities safe. Outstanding work by all agencies involved in this latest Operation Consequences. This is what commitment, coordination, and proactive policing looks like. @SBCprobation @SanBernardinoPD @DHSgov @FontanaPD @VictorvillePD @YucaipaPD

It was an honor to join the California Police Chiefs Association as they paid tribute to those who lost their lives over the past year and honored Deputies Hector Cuevas and Andrew Nunez. I was privileged to stand alongside Deputy Chiefs Mike Walker and Randy German in remembering their service, sacrifice, and lasting impact. @CAPoliceChiefs @sbcountysheriff @VictorvillePD @RanchoPD

This year marked SEBA’s 4th Annual Honor Our Fallen and Remember the Families 5K Memorial Run. Today, we paid tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting others, and to the families who continue to carry the pain of that loss every single day. I also want to remember Grant Ward, whose vision and dedication helped make this event a reality in honor of our fallen officers. This year, more than 600 runners registered for the event — a powerful show of support, remembrance, and unity. Thank you to all of the departments, stations, divisions, families, and friends who showed up for these families. Your presence, commitment, and participation mean more than you know. @sbcountysheriff @sebasbcounty

Today, our community came together for the Honor Our Fallen 5K to remember and honor Deputy Andrew Nunez and Deputy Hector Cuevas Jr. Family members, friends, partners, and community members walked and ran not just for a race, but in remembrance of two heroes who gave their lives in service to others. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their legacy continues to live on through the communities they protected and the partners who proudly carry their memory forward. Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring their lives and showing support for their families. We will always remember. #SBCSD #HonorOurFallen #NeverForgotten #Memorial5K

I was proud to welcome participants from the SBCSS Regional Education Leadership Academy to the law enforcement session at our Emergency Operations Center. I shared what I believe are three foundational aspects of strong leadership: listening, communication, and empathy. I was also proud to be joined by my friend, Chief Rich Randolph of the Fontana Unified School District Police Department, who shared valuable insight on the differences between school policing and municipal policing, and the important role each plays in keeping our students and communities safe. @sbcountysheriff @SBCSDAviation @FontanaSchoolPD @SBCountySchools @RichRandolph7

It is important to me to attend as many CCW classes as possible so I can personally meet the people taking the responsible steps necessary to obtain their concealed carry permits. I pray that none of them ever faces the worst-case scenario where they are forced to use their firearm, but I am confident that our CCW Division staff provides them with the training, guidance, and tools they need should that bad day ever come. @sbcountysheriff

Public Safety Update The Federal Bureau of Investigation recently shared information with law enforcement agencies across California regarding a potential threat involving Iran. At this time, there are currently no verified threats identified within our county. Our department continues to work closely with our local, state, and federal partners to monitor and identify any potential threats, and we will provide updates as needed. Out of an abundance of caution, patrols have been increased. We encourage community members to remain aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity. If you see something, say something. #SanBernardinoCounty #SBCSD #PublicSafety #CommunityAwareness #StayVigilant
