@afneil @adamboultonTABB As a bilingual (and London-born Irish) resident of 30 years, I’d like to think I have a measured inside view. Modern France actually has great affection for England. (Except on rugby day!) There’s a feeling here the UK has fallen prey to Islamism, wokery and post colonial guilt.

🚨: MOBBED, ATTACKED & @WillColeshill ARRESTED FOR COUNTER PROTESTING LEFTIES! Today I went to the “Together Against the Far Right” protest with a placard quoting THEIR SLOGAN, with one key change. I replaced “far right” with “far left”, so it read: “Together we can unite against the far left.” - turning their terminology on them. I engaged in a few good conversations, but then we were mobbed and attacked. @WillColeshill was then arrested for assault, I assume after pushing back against those attacking us. This is disgusting two-tier justice. We were assaulted, yet Will was arrested. The state HATES the right wing. The police mocked, laughed and refused to listen to any reason - they just heard loads of people calling us "fascists" & "far-right" and went in with politically motivated vengeance. This is what we are up against. But as I always say, it only strengthens my resolve. I will keep fighting at the grassroots level. I refuse to sit in an online echo chamber. I will continue going to these demonstrations and engaging in calm, rational debate. Sadly, some people can only resort to violence. At 16:30 today, a guy jumped through the ticket barrier at St. John's Wood tube station right in front of me. I shouted to call the attention of the @TfL staff sat in his box thing. The staff member just told me he can't do anything. Silly me had to pay to get through the barriers. So I walked down the escalators (which has finally been fixed after six months), caught up with the fare dodger to ask him why he didn't pay. The guy said "I can't afford to. Cost of living and that!". I told him I have to pay for him not paying and I am affected by the cost of living too. He had the cheek to then say "Well that's up to you man. We are all struggling and walked off" Yes we are all struggling, but what exactly is the point of TfL staff when someone blatantly crashes through ticket barriers and they literally do nothing.
