We are having ongoing disruption to the network due to the current weather conditions. The power cuts have meant that we are losing power at some sites and we can't get engineers out due to blocked roads. We will assess the situation at first light.

Repairs to the section of SHEFA2 between Shetland and Orkney are ongoing. Traffic is due to be restored between 3pm and 5pm today.

Shefa2 between Shetland and Faroe has been repaired. The cable ship is now heading for Faroe to pick up more cable before returning to repair the cable between Shetland and the Mainland. The vessel is estimated to be on site Tuesday.

A lot of telecommunications problems in Shetland today. The cable between Shetland and Faroe was damaged last week and is currently being repaired. During the night the south cable was also damaged. Shetland Telecom link is still operational but other links are down.

@BBCTech Not all communications are down. Some services are down but some internet and landlines are working.
