I was reading Genesis 37 today and noticed something. Verse 4 said Joseph’s brothers hated him, verse 5 said they hated him even more, and verse 8 also said they hated him even more. Then in verse 11, the word changed from hate to they were jealous of him. After verse 11 mentioned that they were jealous of him, the next thought that came to their minds when they saw him was “let us kill him.” I’ve heard some people say they like when others are jealous of them and y’all honestly don’t understand the true nature of jealousy because if you did, you wouldn’t want anyone to be jealous of you. Once jealousy is involved, your life is in danger. When King Saul was jealous of David, he tried to kill him. Cain killed Abel because of jealousy. Jealousy kills. “For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.” James 3:16

When Jesus said you are not of this world, He meant it. Anyone of this world is an enemy of God. Jesus saved you from the kingdom of darkness and brought you into the Kingdom of God. Trying to be of both worlds is worse than being in one or the other. Jesus said He despises anyone who's lukewarm. So which one is it? Are you: An Enemy or Child of God? Of the World or in Christ? Loved or Hated by the world? In the Kingdom of Darkness or Light? It can't be both.

When you pray, God not only listens but He goes to work. Angels are dispatched, chains are broken, favor is released. You can send up prayers for someone who doesn’t know how to pray. You can stand in the gap while they’re off course, not making good decisions. You can be a friend with faith.

Setting aside whether her childhood accident was an unconscious act for the moment, her astonishing theory that most of the rapists, murderers, and child molesters in prison acted “accidentally” is mind-boggling. More importantly it is a powerful lesson about the liberal mind. We can now be assured that this opportunistic little piece of work, like so many of her ilk, will invariably weep for the criminal, but consider his victims, if she indeed considers them at all, as collateral damage. One thing is clear: she’s an even more dreadful monster than her vile, dangerous, deranged husband.
