Christianity: You sin. So an innocent guy whom they think is God and sinless, has to sacrifice himself (to himself) to save you from himself.

Christians do not believe Jesus is “the Son of Himself.” We believe there is one God who eternally exists as three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). The Son is eternally begotten of the Father not created and shares the same divine nature as the Father (John 1:1; John 10:30). So Jesus is both the Son of God and truly God. There are not three gods, but one God in three Persons.

The EU Parliament said NO to Chat Control. Then NO again. The exemption expired in April.
So what did they do? Weber (EPP) asked Metsola to reopen the file, the Council adopted the old text as a "new" position on July 2, and the vote ran as a second reading, where rejection needs 361 votes and every absent MEP effectively counts as a YES. The date? The last day before summer recess.
276 votes against wasn't enough. Suspicionless, warrantless scanning of private messages is back, even though the EU's own legal service warned that indiscriminate scanning violates Article 7 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights.
When "no" doesn't count and you just re-run the vote until you get the right answer, that's not democracy. It's theater.
What we can do:
• Write to your MEPs. Names and votes are public. Remember them at the ballot box.
• Support fightchatcontrol.eu and orgs like EDRi
• Switch to end-to-end encrypted apps (Signal). They're not covered by the scanning, for now.
• The permanent Chat Control 2.0 is still being negotiated. That's the real fight. Don't let them pull the same trick twice.

The vote is over — and on paper, we lost. Chat Control 1.0 is reinstated until April 2028.
But look at how it passed: with just 314 votes in a 720-seat Parliament — because the EPP’s second-reading trick meant opponents needed 361 to stop it. The bar to block it was set higher than the bar to pass it.
It carried on the last day before summer recess, with barely 600 of 720 MEPs in the room. What Parliament rejected in March passed today — on an empty chamber and a procedural tilt. That should trouble anyone who cares about how democracy works, not just about privacy.
What this means in practice: US tech companies are again allowed to scan private messages without a warrant or prior suspicion — direct messages on Instagram, Discord, Snapchat, Skype and Xbox, and emails via Gmail and iCloud.
The real fight now moves to September, when Chat Control 2.0 — the permanent regulation that reaches into end-to-end encryption — returns to negotiation.
