The problem with Support Players is that they never had to adapt AT ALL in this game unlike the other two roles. Hopefully this season a good portion of the player base decides to try other characters and adapt to Meta supports being banned

People drawing comparisons like this to sexism/politics are genuinely insane. The characters are just annoying to deal with and have access to very easy tools to deal with problems in their games (dive) but they refuse to get good at using them. The devs then have to compensate for their lack of skill through buffs, further reducing their skill floor leading to favored matchups against characters that are supposed to counter them lol. This is why people have an "inherent hatred" towards the support role, it's quite literally because they whine and get what they want, it has nothing to do with fucking sexism, that is an INSANE line of thinking.

They’re mad we are learning we can abuse that fact.

@nonyabizz_ Nobody is banning 6 supports a game that is a braindead take. The most you will see is 3 and they’re characters people rely on to succeed with. Like, if I’m playing with someone who can play Luna and Loki, I would ban Invis and CnD so the tone team struggles.

When Wolverine was making tanking a toxic experience we didn’t go on strike, we kept playing. Even with all the CC, we kept playing.
But when dive was strong you went on strike. And now you’re doing it again because people are learning you’re too reliant on some characters.

@Cellowphane I’ve been playing tank for my entire time playing Rivals, and there is so many periods where the role was miserable to play, but we adapted because we are resilient.
You support players don’t know how to adapt when faced with a challenge.

Shit it’s the reason this ban strat works. People get lost without them.

@hyjules_ Mantis +Loki has been a top combo in high ranks because people learned to get past Mantis’s lack of burst by having good positioning.
As important as some of these healers are, they encourage bad gamesense because they allow you to sponge so much damage because of the sustain.

+ this isn't about "learn other supports" because you need to realize that HOT (healing over time) supports can't keep up and its not because we're bad, its bc our kits are not designed to save you from high damage dealers
