whilst the actual balancing of the game does affect TDM meta, i’d argue that Ranked 2.0 holds more of a weight as to why TDM meta exists. Even when you could aim down sight at the speed of light, pro league still played out very strategy reliant. Ranked just needs more of a reason not to lose your game, 2.0 even if i’m diamond 3 i lose like -15 and gain +30, doesn’t matter if i lose a game, i win 1 game and it’s the equivalence of 2 losses. i remember 1.0 losing a game felt so heartbreaking and if you faced a full champ stack, knowing you could get +150 made the game just that much more competitive and the champs would sweat and strat heavy because they didn’t want to lose -150.
