As a Lebanese, this is one of the happiest days in Lebanon’s history. As a Middle Easterner, this is one of the most transformative days for the Middle East. As a human being who holds peace before my eyes, this is the most important day for our region. Nasrallah and Hezbollah have terrorized the Lebanese people since the 1980s. He is responsible for the continuous downfall of Lebanon’s economy and sovereignty. He bears responsibility for countless assassinations of fine Lebanese men and women, solely for opposing his grip on our precious country. Nasrallah is also responsible for the slaughter of thousands of Syrian children, women, and men, as well as for other atrocities across the Middle East. Every Lebanese and every decent human being should feel joy at the downfall of one of the greatest evils of our time. Now, we have a real chance to look forward, ensuring Hezbollah’s weapons are handed over to the Lebanese authorities, and sitting down with Israelis and the West for genuine negotiations on normalization and peace between our countries—Israel and Lebanon.

@Cluffalo I totally agree. Therapy can be great for very specific cases, where there's something specific to solve, but I know too many people who became dependent of their therapist that now can't make any decision without first asking their therapist.

I think therapy is actually a net negative for a lot of people It reinforces your hardships as the center of your life and makes you ruminate on them Serious mental health issues, sure, but endless therapy with no end date can't be good for you

@ShirlySpikes Listening to music whilst doing pretty much any activity for me is essential. I smash tasks when music is on, I take ages otherwise.

My least favourite thing about working with sound design is that I can't listen to music / a podcast at the same time. I work best when I have something to listen to, and debugging game sounds doesn't do it for me lol.

Tough day at Magic Leap today. Lots of talented colleagues were laid off as we move to a new market approach for Magic Leap 2. It’s hard to see such great people go, but I know they’re true ninjas at what they do. Sending hugs and support to all my friends who were laid off today

@michae1becker The biggest problem of spatial audio is still the same as it was 7 years ago : no one gets it because the visualization is pretty bad, and understanding how sound moves it hard for people to grasp without good visuals. Google was the closest in terms of visuals.

*BIG* Unity / Polyspatial / AVP PSA: The only way to properly utilize spatial audio in Vision Pro experiences built in Unity is to leverage Apple's PHASE plugin which unlocks occlusion and much more refined spatialization.

I started a Discord community. It was successful for a while but I had to take a break for a couple of months and now it's pretty quiet. How do you revive and sleeping community?

Sound design is more than just noise. It’s a symphony of carefully crafted elements that bring stories to life. When you start listening to sounds around you, you slowly develop the skill to understand the difference between what you hear and what is causing the sound.
