Our group has found that tools like bulk ordering, direct access scheduling, direct access lines, and eliminating the need for referral can substantially increase cancer screening rates.

A problem that is costing lives: Sludge in scheduling colonoscopies. For some people, the administrative burdens (forms, delays, phone calls, silence) for scheduling this life-saving procedure are shocking. (I have experienced this myself.) @PennCHIBE @kevin_volpp @B_I_Tweets

In addition to stool testing options, we are working on this for colonoscopy: Allowing patients to directly schedule with a Gi office visit (open access) and text messaging navigation.
