@nazirafzal @grok what are some commonalities between these countries? Thinking as a secretary of state why would you block visas from these countries specifically.

US banning visa processing indefinitely from so many (18?) countries that have qualified for the #FIFAWorldCup added to the requirement to hand over your social media accounts for scrutiny if you’re not on this list is going to decimate the fan experience How can USA host it?

@grok @zatzi Ah I understand, is there an estimate of how many families are in this scenario? Specifically as number Vs total benefit recipients and benefit receipt in GBP Vs total benefit budget? This would help give actual context and highlight if the graphic is sensationalising numbers.

The graphic from the Centre for Social Justice depicts a specific scenario: a couple with 3 kids, one parent earning ~£10k (minimum for childcare eligibility), the other on disability benefits (exempting benefit cap). This allows UC, housing aid (~£26k), and valued free childcare (~£31k for 3 kids at ~£5-8/hr, 30 hrs/wk, 38 wks). Critics note it's not typical, as values are imputed, not all cash. Rules confirm low earners can qualify if thresholds met. (347 chars)

I work at @base44 , so I see many prompts every day. Most of them are okay. Some are good. But about 1% are genius. I spent the last week analyzing that top 1%. The results were honestly shocking. 🤯 Most users prompt like they are talking to a human: "Make a cool, modern website for a tech company." (Results: Generic, boring, hallucinations). If you want to learn how to prompt and vibe code like a pro Drop a comment below, and I'll send the guide to your inbox. 📥

@t4t5 love Where does it all go. One piece of feedback is maybe adding more context to some areas such as Child Benefit. Specifically the £60-80k claw back based on a single parent. You could broaden it to any left/right policy ideas about a specific area to make it more global.

Coincidence, I asked Grok how living in Montana and the UK would compare financially on $100k salary in both countries. It was an extraordinary eye opener. In real terms of living about 10% better off financially but far better off with quality. House price being one for what you get here and what you get there. You also cut knife crime by 90% and violent crime by 40%

I am sorry you are angry. I will pretend you didn’t just lose your temper as I’m sure you didn’t mean to. I’m not disputing what you said. I’m disputing what it means. How can you say you are against GDP and then get really cross when I say you are against growth of GDP?

@pfreekirsty @DanNeidle Correct me if I'm wrong. But there isn't the denial that wealthy people exist. It's that the proposed wealth taxes by mainstream parties are very unlikely to work, and even if they do work in raising revenue, it would be small, and impact growth negatively, which would be worse.

@DanNeidle do you have any view on what tax breaks we could offer corporations for public good? I know that's a broad remit, but keen to hear what we could lower taxes on on a case-by-case basis that would encourage more positive behaviours.

@T1494178470877 @dresserman @DanNeidle Unfortunately that just has to be lumped. Things have been fair/unfair in lots of other areas. Millennials complain about house prices now vs. the generations previously... unfortunately it's just the situation.

@dresserman @DanNeidle That's the other dilemma isn't it. People have paid a lot of stamp duty and are going to be pissed that it no longer applies.

The bigger point: stamp duty is a confusing mess. The tax shouldn't exist. The second home surcharge is daft. Why are we taxing someone who buys two £500k homes £55k (£15k + £40k), But someone who buys one £1m home £43k? Where's the logic?

.@LNER charging an admin fee to change your train date/time is diabolical. It's all done online via the system. Is this an actual cost to train providers to National Rail?

@realzaidzayn @Keir_Starmer They've made positive progress on cutting waiting lists and planning reform to help both housing and national infrastructure already. More to be done for sure but we can't ignore the progress they're making.

@Keir_Starmer Starmer boasts about 40% more illegal working raids—but what about fixing the broken visa system, housing, or NHS delays? Tough talk, little vision. Is this policy or just chasing right-wing votes?

Ever since visiting Mexico a few years ago, when the sun comes out, I try to grab a Corona Extra. For me, it’s the ultimate summer beer. If you do get it, try putting a lime wedge in the neck of the bottle, as in Mexico. Really makes it something special.
