Authorities confirm that two drones fell in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB) a short while ago, resulting in minor injuries to two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi national, and moderate injuries to one Indian national. Air traffic is operating as normal.

Amid all the gloom and doom of this week’s military escalation, allow me to share a story that gave me immense joy. Among thousands of stranded passengers, I met a 76-year-old British widow carrying a remarkable piece of Abu Dhabi’s history - 200+ photos her late husband Peter Leach took here in the 1960s when Abu Dhabi was still part of the Trucial States. Lynda had come on a cruise but stayed back to personally hand them to the #ZayedNationalMuseum, to fulfill Peter’s wish. Then the escalation began and she got stranded. I wrote the story for @Independent on March 3. And the very next day, the museum @znmuae contacted me. I connected them.
