So now the Coalition is calling for the adoption of coal-to-liquid fuels. It‘s a pity they were all too busy playing factional games and didn’t listen when I raised this over a decade ago. The diesel you can produce from coal actually burns cleaner than diesel produced from oil, but it’s an energy intensive process that produces CO2 - that’s why the Liberals & Labor actually put in place measures to stop coal-to-diesel in Australia.
