In context, this is an extremely aggressive and vulgar way of telling someone to shut up. -The same person can also be heard saying, “Sorry for bringing money to your country.” This was clearly a sarcastic and condescending remark implying, “Your country depends on money from tourists like me.” -A girl in the same group also stooped just as low by pulling the corners of her eyes upward at the camera. This “slant-eye” gesture is widely recognised as racist toward Asians because it mocks a physical characteristic associated with Asian ethnicity. To those who think Thai people are overreacting: feel free to retreat to your blissful little fantasy world and continue putting white foreigners on a pedestal. It is precisely this kind of attitude that makes them think they can treat us like beggars.
