@JamesMelville Different times and Rory undoubtedly the most successful. Greatest? I dunno. Like to me and maybe you Maradona is the best footballer the world has ever seen. A lot of this generation it’s either Messi or Ronaldo 🤷‍♂️

The greatest European golfer of all time? ⛳️ ▪️Seve Ballesteros: 5 majors, 9 PGA Tour wins, 50 European Tour wins ▪️Nick Faldo: 6 majors, 9 PGA Tour wins, 30 European Tour wins ▪️Rory McIlroy: 6 majors (majors grand slam), 30 PGA Tour wins, 21 European Tour wins It has to be Rory. And he is likely to win even more.

"I've talked to Jack Nicklaus over the years how he prepared for majors, and he would go the week before, and he would simulate a tournament. He'd play one ball for four days, shoot scores. So then when he got to the tournament, it was sort of -- it felt second nature to him. "I did a little bit of that leading up to here, and I think that's certainly a good way to prepare going into the next majors." Rory McIlroy, Augusta, April 12, 2026

Rory McIlroy just reminded everyone that we’re all SO incredibly poor and will never have anything nice This man would take his private jet to Augusta from Florida in the morning, play AUGUSTA NATIONAL, and then go home like he’s just working a 9-5

@AlexMyers3 All 3 magnificent golfers. The maverick style of Seve, the relentlessness of Faldo and the prodigious talent of Rory all appeal to fans for very different reasons. We’ve been fortunate to witness them all.

Seve: 9 PGA Tour wins, 50 Euro Tour wins, 5 majors Faldo: 9 PGA Tour wins, 30 Euro Tour wins, 6 majors Rory: 30 PGA Tour wins, 21 Euro Tour wins, 6 majors One of those guys only turns 37 next month. I think the debate over greatest European golfer ever can be put to rest.

Maybe getting the opportunity to play Augusta National unlimited times the month leading into The Masters, while skipping three straight tournaments, gave Rory McIlroy an unfair advantage over the other competitors… Just maybe. Congrats, or whatever.

@mathewclarke “Lad’s” giving it the biggun’ dropping the ragebait and getting a bite. Going after someone for what they did/didn’t do 30 years ago is a little odd and trying to diminish his achievements and name calling is even more strange given their own…careers 🤷‍♂️

@JamesMelville I’d like to see Justin Rose win it. The sportsmanship, class and talent the guy exuded last year when he was up against Rory was world class.

The fact that there’s 3 UK players in contention at the Masters is something to be proud of.

And did you have a similar problem with any of these guys playing and winning The Masters? 🤔🤨 Gary Player? Seve Ballesteros? Sandy Lyle? Ian Woosnam? Bernhard Langer? Jose Maria Olazabal? Vijay Singh? Mike Weir? Trevor Immelman? Angel Cabrera? Charl Schwartzel? Adam Scott? Danny Willett? Sergio Garcia? Hideki Matsuyama? Jon Rahm?

@JonnyRoot_ This is an American event so the fact he even is allowed to play in it is weird and dare I say a bit icky?

This statement from Rory McIlroy after blowing a historic 6-shot lead, comes across as wildly arrogant & has a mentality of “one Masters championship is enough for me” Tiger Woods would never answer a question like this.

Cast Away’s ending has always stayed with me. The mixed emotions Hanks feels upon returning home- he survived, but missed so much. His forehead is still sunburnt but his face is lighter from the beard. It’s a bittersweet moment that only an actor of Tom Hanks’ caliber could nail.

@claudelittner Running your own business is confrontational at times and you need to know the best way of liaising with someone on the level of Claude who will see through any deflection or waffle. I mean it’s not that hard. Watch the interviews from the last few series and do the opposite! 😂

You miss the very point of my interviews! They are to scrutinise & challenge the business plans, expose flaws, and report my findings to guide Lord Sugar towards his decision to which one to invest in. I am not aggressive or confrontational, merely purposeful & forensic in my quest.
Simon Austin@sport_simon

@claudelittner Not a fan of your interviews on the apprentice Claude. Unnecessarily aggressive and confrontational. Unlikely to get the best out of a candidate. Out of touch.

Who is the least important member of the Fellowship? Legolas. Even Tolkien said he probably achieved least of the Nine Walkers, and when you look closely, it fits. Legolas was brave and useful, but he made few key decisions and shaped the story far less than Gandalf, Aragorn, Frodo, Sam, or even the hobbits. He mattered, but if one member had the smallest impact on the fate of Middle-earth, Legolas is the clearest choice. Civilizations are not carried by the most elegant figure in the room, but by those who bear burden, make hard choices, and carry duty to the end.

@Glinner Graham is too modest. For newbies he is quite simply a comedic genius, a true one off. He wrote and co-wrote some of the most seminal comedy tv shows in the UK in the 90’s & 00’s. His ‘magnum opus’ was a show called Father Ted which was and is still beloved by so many of us 🎸🐴

Hi to my new international readers. I was a successful UK comedy writer until I spoke out against men in women's sports and private spaces, and children being mutilated and sterilised in gender clinics. The fight is far from over so join me if any of this interests you.
