Hypothetically Mono Currency scenario: If fuel is imported in USD, but dealers are forced to sell in local currency using a ZERA price based on the official rate, then the business needs guaranteed USD access to restock. But if the only reliable USD is from the parallel market at a ~20% premium, selling in local currency becomes an automatic loss. Unless RBZ supplies USD consistently at the official rate, the system becomes unsustainable. So the real question is: how long can reserves keep covering that gap or should the central bank allow the market to self correct and close the premium?

The Ministers discussed and made decisions on the following issues: Gender mainstreaming in SADC; implementation of the Regional Multi-Dimensional Women’s Economic Empowerment Program (RMD-WEEP); Women, Peace and Security Agenda; Women in Politics and Decision-Making Positions; and commitment to the SADC Protocol on Gender and Development.
