@SandyofSuffolk It could be before Christmas if/when Labour get decimated in the Local elections next month and Labour back benches realise their cushy jobs are on the line

To everyone who's saying the general election isn't until 2029, I've news for you. Labour won't last that long. Nigel will be in No 10 at least a year before that. At least. Mark my words.

@Miss_Snuffy I don’t mind a uniform policy, and track suit may not be it. But please get rid of blazers and ties etc, which are not standard work wear for most, and expensive to boot. Jumper and polo shirt is fine (and hopefully not required to be branded).

@obviousenigma1 @SamCoatesSky Sam Coates is posting the results of weekly polling, conducted under British Polling Council guidelines, which he does every Tuesday at 6am. Some weeks it’s up, some it’s down.

@SamCoatesSky It’s 06:00 and Sam Coates is already posting this. It seems Sam can’t wait to take Labour down. Well done in your part in promoting Reform over the last couple of years via your failure to effectively call out Farage, his sleaze and Reform lies.

@abxc___ @22jenson09 In some (developed, Western, football-loving) countries, that $100 still feeds a family for a week. So we’ll hard pass on that and watch on TV, thanks.

@22jenson09 It’s just $100usd just pay it The World Cup is a once in a lifetime opportunity in America In 1 week what will that $100 usd cost you ? In a month ? A year ? 30 years later ? You’ll be fine that $100 usd will literally not do anything to your life

@sales_belinda @adamboultonTABB That stance is fine if you think the press was wrong to prosecute Partygate a year after the event. I’m more on Starmer’s side than Johnson or certainly Farage, but competence (and integrity) in government matters.

@mrdanwalker It’ll happen until people just don’t go. If people moan but pay it anyway, you’re not a “true fan”, you’re a mug. Get your mates round to the pub with the biggest telly and watch it there (by the way, on free TV because of UK policy on big events and public service TV culture)

This can’t be right… A train journey from Penn Station in New York to the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey normally costs $12.90 or just under a tenner. During the World Cup this summer that same ticket will cost $150 (£110.75)! Some might say it’s just about supply and demand but they have closed all the car parks at the stadium and there are no concessions - that’s $600 for a family of 4!

@wendlingere49 @Matt_AKA_Keefy Hmm… I’m Team Starmer over Boris any day of the week, but the coverage of Partygate was in a *very* similar vein.. daily revelations at the top of news bulletins.

Interesting that Dominic Cummings didn't have clearence either but practically lived at No.10 with Boris,& was given the rose garden to mount that ridiculous excuse of driving to Barnard Castle to test his eye sight.Where was the witch hunt daily to get Boris out, then?

@SarahForRuncorn @ReformUKTelford Are the council housing them? Or profiteering providers working for the Home Office? In most places, Capita went round buying up beds without councils having a clue.

Halton Borough Council has a waiting list of 3,800 people requiring social housing, yet the Labour controlled council is currently housing 600 illegal asylum seekers. This is pure betrayal of local people. A Reform led Council would put a stop to this. Vote Reform UK on 7th May.

@LewisJWarner @ITVCentral While that’s obviously a disaster for Labour, and I’m not pretending otherwise, being in front (and *clearly* in front of the Greens/Inds) might help stem a narrative on the left that only Greens can keep Reform out.

@sharpe_le @RebeccaCNReid And the choice of an increasing number of people in their 20s and 30s is not to have any because they can’t afford it. Which is rather gonna fuck up the stream of taxes to pay for you being old.

Breakfast clubs are not about breakfast, they're largely about pre-school care because it's impossible for two working parents to commute to their desks at 9AM if schools start at 8.40.
Julia Hartley-Brewer@JuliaHB1

The breakfasts are not free. They are paid for by taxes - mostly on parents who feed their own kids. Most of these 10,000 children would have had a perfectly healthy breakfast at home without these clubs. This isn't about helping the poorest kids, it's the state taking over the basic job of parenting.

@horton_official Especially when differential pricing is a revenue maximisation strategy employed by many private businesses: drawing in people who wouldn’t pay the full price in a month of Sundays. Totally illiterate.

This is a classic scene from the British sitcom *Yes, Prime Minister* (1980s). - The man with glasses monologuing about newspapers: Sir Humphrey Appleby (Nigel Hawthorne), the Permanent Secretary. - The Prime Minister asking about *The Sun*: Jim Hacker (Paul Eddington). - The civil servant delivering the punchline: Bernard Woolley (Derek Fowlds). One of the show's sharpest satirical bits on the press!

@DavidMooney In fairness, there’s a lot of “BBC News”.. TV and R4 led on Iran, R2 and Five Live went with Kanye. I think that’s OK. If you think there should only be a single BBC news “voice”, stop doing news on Radio 1, 2, 5, local, etc and just have a dude in a bow tie 3x a day on Radio 4.

I don’t see any reason why UK broadcasters can’t broadcast the Trump language in full, especially post-watershed. It‘s revealing , and shouldn’t be censored or treated as normal.
