Finally! All the NPC models are game ready. It took far longer than expected as the problem with models from multiple sources is you can run into very time consuming problems, like having to manually retexture entire models and repeatedly tweak things in #blender #indiegamedev

Refactoring went better than expected! Only went in to refactor 1 segment and ended up noticing a handful of other stuff that could use improving as well. 1.)Created an interaction handler component Purpose: Takes one line trace meant for interactions and handles it differently based on the type of item it is. Is this an inventory item? Is it a prop? Is it a lever? Can it be inspected? Then acts accordingly 2.)Noticed my inventory item data structure was starting to get lengthy so i implemented nested structures -Converted inventory item data into a master item data component -Then nested inside ItemDetails, InspectionData, ItemProperties Purpose: This allows for simplicity when dealing with components that don't need to know everything about an item, IE Inventory not needing to know if this item can rotate. 3.)After the previous refactor, then fixed my inventory component to move from using the entire Item data structure to only using the Item Details structure for simplicity 4.)Right before going to bed i realized that my player blueprint on jump was asking through the branches if the player was able to jump (rookie ignorance from when i first started), So i structured it so the stamina component is what decides if the player jumps or not. -Is the player currently Jumping? -Does the player have stamina available? -Is the player currently inspecting? Now I rest before i find another thing i can fix that old me implemented #solodev #indiedev #horror #scp #scpfoundation #unrealengine

@ericnofsinger Much agreed. Keep that nostalgic feeling but innovate on its delivery. You don’t have to keep a games architecture 1:1 to get the players that remember the classic to stop and really appreciate what the game stands for.
