@TS1867 @Landeur There's always one inadequate, bitter, twisted person who blames us for their abject failure in life.

Means-test pensions at £1,000,000 assets and remove the triple lock. Tie pension increases to inflation only. This is perfectly reasonable, but if you dare to suggest it then people will comment suggesting you should be sent to Ukraine and die in a trench.
James Baxter@Bax31James

@Landeur I think pensions have to maintained for those who already paid into the scheme in full …which went out the door to pay pensions to those already in receipt. We can’t just declare it can’t be paid! We need to fix the broad public purse first then it becomes affordable.

@drifter104 @Vender2k10 @KEdge23 Like any good parent, we're helping with his fees while he works full time. Like I said, what good have you ever done in your life? How many times did you save somebody's life? You'd wet your pants if you saw what he did or had to administer narcan on a regular basis.

@SignoraMatera @Vender2k10 @KEdge23 Really? So is it you can't retire because you're pension was decimated (which you literally cry about in nearly every post), or is it because you like working (clearly not) or is it because you have to support your adult son (the irony)?

@drifter104 @Vender2k10 @KEdge23 Ain't crying asshole. It is what it is & unlike spoiled brats like you I made the best of a bad situation & enjoy my job. Don't even fucking start to talk about my son. He worked in the homeless sector and is now doing a degree psychotherapy - what useful work have YOU ever done?

More money for the reckless and feckless who knock out 4 kids by 4 different men The two-child benefit cap has now been scrapped, meaning some 480,000 families with three or more children will get an average rise of £4,100 a year.

@drifter104 @Vender2k10 @KEdge23 Actually, yes. I have a great career which I thoroughly enjoy. I can't change what that fat fool did to my private pension but I don't cry a river about it. My husband was back at work 3 months after a stroke because WE have grit.

@Vender2k10 @KEdge23 Why should I? Most of these people have not fallen on hard times - they think shelling out brats is their birthright. We fell on hard times & I was grateful that we only had the one. What does abortion have to do with it, you absolute tosser?

@SignoraMatera @KEdge23 I’m not surprised at all that you don’t care. And your thoughts on abortion? How about those who could afford when they had a kid, and their circumstances changed? Do they just return the kid somewhere?

@BruceHBond I’ve not blamed anyone. All I’ve said is that the pension is a benefit, and that it’s paid by taxpayers

@KevinG39009596 @KEdge23 Don't be ridiculous - how many people are having triplets. And do you know what? You should not be having children at all if they are going to starve. I limited myself to one. It's called birth control.

@KEdge23 Yet, pensioners are being demonised. I was appalled to see that NextGen Conservatives joined in the witch hunt against pensioners.

@Tinebobagain I speak Italian and so far nothing about the perp has been said in the Italian news so I will withold judgement for now. Happily, Rosi is now out of danger and allowing herself to be held and is purring! Whoever raped this baby girl, migrant or native, needs castrating.

More from Green party candidate Mark Adderley - Nadia Sawahla's husband. Here he is defending the utterly vile video by Dawn French - with her mocking the victims of 7 October. Is this ok with you @ZackPolanski

Tonight, amid all the nasty rhetoric and disrespect being thrown at pensioners online, I saw something that genuinely lifted my heart and restored some faith. My son and I were out walking our two dogs when we came across an elderly gentleman struggling to get his dog back on the lead. My boy quickly noticed, went straight over, and calmly helped control the dog so the gentleman could get the lead back on properly. We ended up chatting for a while — the man was so grateful and kept praising my son for stepping in to help. As we were saying goodbye and wishing each other a safe journey home, my boy looked at him with real respect and said: “Thank you Sir, have a safe journey home and all the best.” That simple “Sir” and natural courtesy hit me right in the chest. It’s exactly the same mark of respect I’ve always shown to older people — and he picked it up without me ever forcing it. In a time when some are busy pitting young against old and treating pensioners like the enemy, this small act reminded me there’s still real decency, kindness, and respect in the next generation. Proud dad moment. Couldn’t love him more right now. ❤️

@sophielouisecc Because the triple lock is unsustainable. That being said removing the two child cap is just utterly fiscally irresponsible.
