The only government record that is true for all governments, is their tax records. Views my own

@TS1867 @veganukx @MariaBaird13 Well your judgemental attitude towards pensioners seems to fuel your sweeping statements about what they should do to save money. Now pick up all your toys and put them in your pram and leave the grownups alone.

So pensioners are going to be £570 pa better off, where do they get these figures from. I'm getting £24 month rise. Council tax, water, phone energy etc etc, therefore I'm worse off by £32 per month at least 😡

@SignoraMatera @Landeur LOL. Boomers want to spend everything and share nothing. The most entitled, selfish generation, handed everything by accident of birth. Cut your cloth you old cunt, practice what you preach

Means-test pensions at £1,000,000 assets and remove the triple lock. Tie pension increases to inflation only. This is perfectly reasonable, but if you dare to suggest it then people will comment suggesting you should be sent to Ukraine and die in a trench.
James Baxter@Bax31James

@Landeur I think pensions have to maintained for those who already paid into the scheme in full …which went out the door to pay pensions to those already in receipt. We can’t just declare it can’t be paid! We need to fix the broad public purse first then it becomes affordable.

@gilli_bee @LaneyGH @SpursIdol @GreenPlusAnE I know exactly who he is. He spent Browns entire premiership saying we were being held back, as did Michael Howard & Oliver Letwin. We’d have been even more fucked if any of them had been in as theyd have further deregulated our banks and it would have been the wild west

@TS1867 @MariaBaird13 Do you think it’s fair that someone not born in this country and doesn’t pay tax gets an additional £400 per month per child and a pensioner who has worked often for 50 years gets £400 a year to survive. Remember you’ll be a pensioner eventually.

@gilli_bee @LaneyGH @SpursIdol @GreenPlusAnE Yet, the shadow chancellor at the time, George somebody, not sure if he ever got the gig 🫣, was imploring more deregulation, more borrowing and more spending? We had 12 years of unparalleled economic growth, undone by a system that was corrupted to the core.

@gilli_bee @LaneyGH @SpursIdol @GreenPlusAnE It began in 2007 when house prices fell in the US & defaults rocketed because they were backed by MBS. Subsequently, Lehman Brothers went under to the tune of $600bn, BearSterns was bailed out and literally every bank in the west had enormous defaults because of this. Read a book

@gilli_bee @LaneyGH @SpursIdol @GreenPlusAnE The US housing market collapsed which triggered the world financial crisis of 2008. Brown did absolutely nothing to cause it. Next youll be throwing the ‘theres no money’ treasury note out 🥱

We need to look after our elderly, they paid vast amounts of NI & no one told them it was a political Ponzi scheme. This country needs to cut regulation to the bone, reduce the size of the state & go after the 8 million on benefits.

Yesterday, Nigel Farage announced that Reform UK would keep the triple lock if elected to government. The move is a short-term electoral gain that undermines the party’s project, writes @peterfranklin_ 👇 buff.ly/dE1OdbY

@TeagueRoger @Exp_Sec_Prof @where4artthow This is from the man who equivocates a 15 year mortgage on a 100k property, to a 25 year mortgage on 25% of a 510k property, leaving out the rent, service charge and lack of upward mobility in future, because hes crying that young people aren’t buying his boomernomics

@PeteWilcock @Landeur 2/3s of Tax & NI is spent on health, education & welfare. The rest is spent on infrastructure, defence & debt, you absolute moron. Council tax pays for LOCAL services you simple twat. Free education till 18, you can LITERALLY have a heart transplant on the NHS FOR FREE

@TS1867 @Landeur Yes, I have been, and yes, I will be taking it. Council tax is for public services you absolute moron, and I'm paying the most I ever have and use the least. Nothing is free at the point of use unless you're a sponger that's never paid in.

@worcesterwizard @Landeur I mean, the boomers love to tell my generation to ‘move where its cheaper’ to buy a house etc, regardless of their life. Maybe they should practice what they preach? Sell up & move north to cut their cloth?

@Landeur South east, high house prices, high cost of living, no state pension as asset value high. North east, lower house prices, lower cost of living but you still get state pension as asset values are lower; this is why wealth taxes don’t work

@PeteWilcock @Landeur No you havent been paying for it. The state pension is not a savings account, your tax & ni pays toward all the public services you have enjoyed throughout your life, all FOC at point of use. The rest went on paying the generation before you’s pension.

@Landeur I've been paying for that pension my whole life, you'd better fucking believe I'm getting it. So what if I've done well? I've earned it. That's on top of being taxed to death on every other aspect of existence in this country. Put your focus on the source of the problem.

@TeagueRoger @Exp_Sec_Prof @where4artthow You also, in another classic boomer move, failed to mention you could get MIRAS, in the 80s and early 90’s, to combat the higher interest rates, and claim upto £30k of it back in your taxes

@Exp_Sec_Prof @where4artthow Even on that income out goings it doesn’t leave a lot. For us there had been a housing crash. Values had fallen mortgages climbed to 15%. We couldn’t afford the mortgage at that time and took a risk to re-mortgage to make ends meet it was either that or loose everything!

@SandyofSuffolk Concerted campaign underway to defraud us of our state pension. I spent 50 years paying tax which paid previous generations pensions. Never did I think this was unfair. So disrespectful what we are hearing now. Sad.

£12,000 per annum to a British pensioner whose paid NI and tax for 45 years? Or £50,000 per annum to a family of Somalians who've never paid tax or NI. And never will? But 'refugees' welcome, eh? 🙄😡
