Today, Sikhs around the world are celebrating the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first Guru. Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught us the principles of Naam Japna (meditation on God’s name), Kirat Karni (honest living), and Vand Chakna (sharing with others). One of his most profound teachings is: “Sarbat da Bhala” – seeking the welfare of all. On behalf of the Sikh Officers Association, we wish you and your family a Happy Gurpurab! May this special day bring peace, joy, and spiritual growth to your lives.

Truly humbled and grateful to have received the Women of the Year Award at the Sikh Officers Association's 3rd Annual Award Gala tonight! At the NYPD, we deeply appreciate the diversity that our department embodies. The Sikh Officers Association and other fraternal organizations within the NYPD play a crucial role in fostering unity and understanding among our members and communities. 07/28/24 - It was a picture perfect day at the @SikhOfficers Family Day. Kudos👏 to the SOA 🪯 team for organizing a wonderful gathering filled with great food, music & activities for our younger crowd. Congrats to those receiving recognition for their outstanding achievements.

Our hearts are heavy as we honor our fallen brother, Probationary Police Officer Edgar Ordonez. We tragically lost Edgar earlier today, just a few days before he was set to graduate and join his fellow Finest protecting New York City.     As we continue to grieve this terrible loss, we will keep Edgar’s family, friends, and fellow officers in our thoughts and prayers.

Six puppies in the @nypd101pct have a new lease on life after being rescued from an abusive owner. The puppies; Red, Horton, Pinson, Sandy, Mona Lisa, and Faith, are being treated by our partners at the @ASPCA. Watch @Fox5Teresa's story on @fox5ny below ⬇️

Today, in a timeless NYPD tradition, we honored several hero officers— paying honor and tribute to them for their exceptional service to public safety. These men & women have shown exceptional efforts & performance while demonstrating extraordinary bravery & service in the line of duty, especially when faced with imminent danger.
