Not @Ryanair staff going full Gen Z on me saying ‘that’s a you problem not a me problem’ when I politely asked about missed baggage. His colleagues even cheered him on. How unprofessional!

Lots of talk around cutting waste in the NHS... I say scrap ALL translation/interpretation costs for foreign languages, and you can sack every DEI officer whilst you're at it. Millions and millions saved, with almost zero effort. That seems like a good place to start.

@Bannatyne I went for a spa treatment at your Ashford branch and it was absolute rubbish. To top it off, my treatment time was cut short. I have had several Elemis spa treatments in other places in the past, and this is by far the worst ever. Someone needs to do something about it.

@LBC @ShelaghFogarty Is Sheila Fogerty being deliberately dim? She knows exactly what it means to adopt our culture. No one has to adopt every aspect of British culture, but if they come to the U.K. to live it’s not unreasonable to expect them to live by OUR culture as opposed to importing their own.

‘When you say adopt our culture, what do you mean?’ ‘Do you mean have a Sunday roast on a Sunday?’ @ShelaghFogarty has a back-and-forth with caller Susan who ‘agrees one hundred percent with Kemi Badenoch’ and believes immigrants should adopt UK culture.

@MrMetacognition @McGeeMatthew Controlling and mitigating the stress is your responsibility. There will always be stressors. My daughter said the same about 100% attendance and I simply let her know she’d already fallen short due to one sick day.

@McGeeMatthew Exactly what we're doing! It still doesn't deal with all of the stress though because the importance of 100% keeps being mentioned at school. And agree, if he's ill he stays off with me, not a question!

My 6 year old has started coming home and talking about how he can't have a day off because he needs to get the 100% attendance award. He said he'd go in if he was sick, just to get the award. When will schools finally scrap attendance awards?

@JohnTyndall1934 @sophielouisecc The problem is the Labour government has deliberately oversimplified private school taxation, misleading people like you into thinking their taxes subsidise private school fees.

@sophielouisecc This maybe difficult for you to understand, but by not paying VAT, we are all subsiding rich kids to receive private education. Two Tier Education

Hang on so special Ed kids are going to be forced out of private schools as labour deems them ‘unfair’ but Keir Starmer says he took £20,000 in donations for accommodation for his 16-year-old son to study "peacefully" The Politics of envy never applies to them

@GBNEWS There are schools who are struggling with falling numbers, no potential to hit their roll numbers for years to come. Geographically, not near areas of demand. However, they are at risk of being a target for the Govt in placing migrant families and asylum seekers.

@RevolutApp I’ve been waiting for a review in-app following withheld funds on Revolut Business. The whole process has been an absolute joke of incompetence. When can I get a response?

I cant read the source. You’ve shown a table indicating people share more genetic similarities with others of their own race. That’s a moot point because it’s naturally more likely for individuals to be genetically similar to those of their own race. But lest we digress - Ethnicity is different from Nationality.

@RishiSunak You’ve targeted the most counterproductive aspect of immigration, possible. International students’ family migration contributes economically to the economy. Also, the reduced number of international students will severely impact universities. It will cripple universities!

@joshuaseigal @naomicfisher @garethkthomas I’m curious - how was a daily behavior mark out of five damaging for you? I thought it would just provide clear feedback (in a more consumable way?). This pie chart, however, seems visually marginalising especially when compared to other students.

@SimiAdebola @ian_cushing Very good point Simi. I know some people are not supported by their SLTs, some are looked down, and some are discriminated against. Interesting because it is only a problem if it is a foreign accent, not otherwise. So not just about accent in my view.

today i found out that this work has won the best early career article in the British Journal of Sociology of Education for 2023. dedicated to all teachers who have experienced hostile pressure to change their accents, especially those that are marginalised in different ways 💖

@yallsop @ian_cushing The fact that this came from an OFSTED inspector makes it more appalling. And is very telling. Glad to hear it didn’t impact your grading. I wonder if it would have, without the headteacher stepping in.

@ian_cushing I remember when I was working as a primary school teacher, an OFSTED inspector told me that he managed to transform his Irish accent and that I should do the same. My headteacher went mental and told him off :) By the way, I got outstanding ...

A White sword stabbing murderer gets ‘humanised’ on @MetroUK front page. Plus not ‘murderer’ ‘killer’ or ‘terrorist’ - he’s ‘mystic samurai’ ’man in court’ over ‘sword murder’. You wouldn’t think he slaughtered a 14yr old Black child who @TheSun called ‘sword lad’ implying at first glance he, the victim, held the sword. Ideology of Whiteness is a sickness.
