I was speaking g to one of my close friends the other day. She has a wonderful son who is getting married this month to a wonderful woman. They now live under her roof to try and save some money to buy a place to live - and he is beside himself about it. He is 26 years old. They want to start a family. They looked at a 2 bedroom one bathroom unit the other day. My friend had a contact able to present the property off market, and a direct sale with no agent. So they jumped at it. It was filthy and old. But it was something. Anything. At a cheaper $875,000 they just couldn’t make it work financially. He started a business 2 years ago and she is a Vet. When they discussed not being able to afford the unit and walked away from it he had tears in his eyes. There are a whole range of reasons there is a dire housing crisis in Austraia and both sides of politics are to blame. Future generations of people are going to do it tough - and the younger generation already is.
