CHINA MART: Visited the newly opened China Mart at Oasis Mall, Kampala. I’ll admit I walked in expecting the usual low-grade Chinese imports, and I was completely wrong. The products are genuinely high quality, and the prices are remarkably friendly. I picked up a dinning set for myself and left impressed. I highly recommend them.

Through the INSIGHTs project, funded by MEI Foundation, MPI in partnership with @AVSIUganda is working to promote the eye health of vulnerable children. All students of Luigi Giussani Schools underwent eye screening, because every child deserves to see the world clearly.

Our team, led by Winston Abanaitwe (Senior Manager Accreditation), Moses Cik (Manager Sector Skills Expert Comittee), Ritah Alupo ( Manager Communication and Outreach) and Narasi Kambaho (Principal) Communications Officer @UVTABOfficial spent the day in Karamoja.

Youth are gaining job-readiness skills, access to digital facilities & linkages to employment through 7 operational Job Centres in the West Nile & Western 🇺🇬 The services create pathways to dignified jobs & self-reliance through the @IloProspects Rural Employment Services Program

I spent the week traversing through Lamwo, Pader, Gulu, Oyam, Lira & Kitgum. You can see many homesteads engaged in the fight of their lives against poverty, I pray Uganda’s leaders can carry a sense of service to these communities. The Ugandan dream should remain alive!

@qataharraymond Not so sure if these communities will leapfrog out of poverty! Come to my sub region, we are leading in everything 🥲 Poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition, alcoholism. The national indicators speak to this. I don’t want to comment if there is some hope somewhere from leadership.
