So now that the sovereignty bill madness has been “cemented” (to borrow from the one of the “cementing mzee’s win” fame), let’s get back to the issues of money and the 11th Parliament. Remember the service award to Mpuuga and the commissioners? Well, the same people received another one last year(I remember seeing a something about it last year but I thought it was a rumor). Except this time it wasn’t called “service award”. The recepients are the PAs of the three commissioners; Solomon Ssilwanyi, Prossy Akampurira Mbabazi and Mathias Mpuuga. The court commissioner, Afoyochan picked for herself. #UgandaParliamentExhibitionII

@job_matua @aitajoel We have seen MPs trading blows in several Parliaments across the world. This idea of singling out the North is unfortunate. I don't think the MP acted on behalf of the North. In any case, how do you stop a Chairperson who cannot listen to reason but only cash?

Erute South MP Jonathan Odur confronts committee chair at Munyonyo over the #ProtectionOfSovereigntyBill2026. He challenged the directive to adopt the committee report without debating the bill clause-by-clause. The joint committee passed the report anyway — 22 votes to 11. A group of dissenting MPs is now drafting a minority report to table on the floor when the bill goes for second and third reading this Tuesday, May 5. #UgandaParliament #SovereigntyBill

@TusiimeSheila The Minister has powers to sack the Board Chair, not the MD. Only the Board can sack the MD. I hope this is not one of those last minute moves to create space for friends/relatives/inlaws before dissolution of Cabinet.We're watching who the replacements will be & their capacity!

Some of the best MDs in the electricity sector have not been Engineers.The MD of Umeme was not an Engineer.The outgoing MD of UEDCL is not a SWSA graduate. He is a professional Accountant who grew thru the ranks. He replaced another professional Accountant.

@job_matua @oftauganda @TonyNatif The Uganda Police Force was probed by a whole Commission of Inquiry headed by Justice Ssebutinde. Did it become any better after the probe? In the case of NSSF, which of the recommendations made by the probe led to its growth? In fact some of them have never been implemented!

@Ntalebrian22 That day will not find him on this earth given that Okello is unlikely to be hanged anytime soon. Hanging of prisoners on death row is not common in Uganda. They are either kept in prison for life or pardoned, usually due to political or sectarian considerations!

Norbert Mao rigorously negotiated for the EALA seats of both Fred Mukasa Mbidde and Gerald Siranda. Mbidde served for two terms, while Siranda is still in his first term. Mao betrayed the opposition he claimed to belong to and formed an alliance with the NRM to send Mbidde and Siranda to EALA. The two have since turned against him in his bid to become Speaker of the 12th Parliament. They have joined Anita Among and are busy decampaigning him.

The RDC then explained that a soldier who was behind his pick up discharged a bullet accidentally from a gun facing up and it smashed thru the hind screen and hit the Vet who was in the cabin.

@DailyMonitor There was an altercation btn a female driver & policeman on Mackinon Road which is under construction.The Speaker was in Bukedea. Apparently female driver insisted on using the road against policeman’s advise.He banged the car bonnet with a gun& bullet discharged.
